Adams Polishes - Americana wax review

First of I would like to give a small disclosure. In no way was I influenced in this review, if anything I was very skeptical of the product. I have a detailer I go to on a regular basis and have always been very happy with the results he provides.

So I come home work on Tuesday(04/09/2013) to find a small surprise on my door steps from Adams Polishes. I received the Adam's Mini-Premium Shine Kit and it pretty much has everything you need. All I had to do was buy another soft micro-fiber cloth. So it rained here for almost two days starting on Wednesday, so once the sun came out it gave me the perfect opportunity to use Adams Amaericana wax and Brilliant Glaze. My buddy let me use his garage, in exchange I had to share my Adams products with him. So we ended up waxing two cars, my black SS and his white VW Jetta.

First of all, when you get the wax it says on the label, "Apply wax over clean paint, covering a max of 2-3 panels at a time". I would go as far as to say 1-2 panels max, the wax hazes pretty fast. If it sits for too long, it will still come off but will require a bit more elbow grease. Adams Brilliant Glaze is more forgiving, so you can cover more panels and not worry about the haze being that difficult to remove. I would say that the wax will haze in less than a minute, so apply light coats and not one single heavy coat. My buddy and I tagged team both cars and were having a hard time keeping up with the drying time.

Second, Adams Brilliant Glaze does exactly what it says. I have a Black SS and it show every FREAKING little scratch. Adams states that The Brilliant Glaze has filling properties that will help temporarily mask imperfections when polishing. It does exactly just that. The glaze made my car look nice and shiny that I was tempted to finish the job right there and then. I'm glad I didn't! I read up on the uses for the glaze and applied it to my wheels. The glaze made my wheels shine and it did not leave a film or residue behind. Grant that the glaze didn't get rid of all my scratches, it did how ever get rid of the majority of the scratches and extremely happy with the results. Considering it was applied and removed by hand.

Third, I followed the video on Adams website were Dylan explains how to use the glaze and the wax. It is stupid easy to use and apply these products. I honestly thought it was going to be a complicated process, especially since I've never waxed a car in my life. Both products have a very pleasant smell and found myself sniffing the wax for a good minute.

The overall experience from using Adams Brilliant Glaze and Americana Wax was fabulous, easy and provided great results. My buddy couldn't believe how both cars turned and was surprised how beautiful the cars turned out. My buddies car is white and after we were done waxing it, i couldnt look at it directly when in the sun it was too bright! My car turned out beautiful. a lot of the small scratches were gone and it looked like a black mirror, ill let the pictures be proof of that. I am a believer of Adams product and a new customer. If you have any doubt about the quality of Adams products, don't!

A few pictures after waxing the car. If you notice in one of the pictures, you can see the sunset in the front fender.

Great products, I'm now curious about the machine polishes and the Patriot wax. I will never be able to look at another detailing product without comparing it to Adams Polishes first.

Very nice!

Always wonder why most manufacturers dont take that extra step to get rid of orange peel :(

Even some of the newer BMW's seem to have them!

If you were to buy a $1M Buggatti, it would have orange peel... there's a sponsor on here that his shop corrected one awhile back.

Thanks guys! I'm very happy the way my car shines now. I'm seriously considering throwing down the cash for Adams Patriot wax.

If you do get the Patriot, you will not be disappointed. I'm seriously considering getting a second one.

I also fall in love with my car all over again right after a good wax/buffing job. It reminds me of when I first purchased the car. Gotta love a black waxed car.

Simple - COST.

In order to deliver cars free of orange peel the would have to sand and polish (cut n' buff) every inch of every car before it left the factory. When you consider the time/effort/cost associated with doing that on an assembly line style manufacturing level it makes it cost & time prohibitive.

Add DAYS of labor to each car produced, the Camaro sticker jumps another $10k... and no ones going to pay for that, especially people (the vast majority) that don't know the difference.

If you liked the brilliant gaze, you should give chemical guys blacklight a try. It's insane. The Americana Wax is one of the best out there!

The best part of using Adams Polishes were the instructional videos. Please do not stop making them! Are there plans in the near future for a video on the Patriot wax?
