December 31, 2009

5 years ago today around 10:00 AM I called the dealer to see if our new Camaro had come in yet. I had been keeping track of it ever since I had ordered it in October 2009.
My salesman was out of town attending a Bowl game so I talked to the owner of the dealership. He informed me that it was on the truck and should be here today or tomorrow. Since it had a $500 owner loyalty incentive on it that expired that day I asked if I could come in and complete the paperwork on the car and pay for it. He told me sure. around 1:00 PM I went to the dealer and signed the papers and gave them a check for $27,650 TTL included.
At 5:00 PM I had not heard from them so I called back because I knew they would be closing at 6:00 PM. The owner said the truck had just gotten in and they were taking it off the truck at that moment. He then surprised me by saying do you want to pick the car up tonight? I said sure but will you be able to do it before you close. He said not to worry they would stay open as long as it took to get it delivered.
At 7:00 PM EST my wife and I drove off the lot at Champion Chevrolet in our new 2010 Rally Yellow Camaro 1LT. Our first 5th Gen. Since it was dark we needed to wait until New Years Day to get pictures. Here are those pictures.

We kept that car until June 18th 2012 when we traded it for the 2012 Camaro 1LT Convertible we have today. while we had the 2010 we put over 27,000 miles on it, and enjoyed every one.
The last picture is what it looked like when we traded it in.
