wheels - if you are going for a track focus, consider 19's or even 18's.
brake rotors - racing brakes are inexpensive and popular here on C5
lighter suspension components - Pfadt has done a good job focusing on shedding pounds with their suspension pieces.
lightweight battery
exhaust - lots of weight to lose from the headers back. plus its a win win with the performance gains
racing seats - Recaro, Cobra, Sparco all have options for our cars. depending on how extreme you are planning on going, there is a good amount of weight to be lost in seats, front and back.

thats a start. putting your car on a diet is not cheap. I prefer it over F/I though.

Follow the Z/28 diet. Atleast you'll save 300lbs I think it is.

Don't forget about passenger delete. Especially fat chicks. Lol
Of the the driver weight reduction I could stand to loose 20 lbs
Only drive with 1/4 tank of gas, that should be good for 1 race. Lol. Or at least the next gas station
Chop the roof off. Home made convertible
