Wrapping good or bad

Don't kill me but I wanted to do something cool and someone told me to wrap my car and if I don't like it I can't rip it off. The question I have is does it hurt the paint? Second would it look dumb to wrap just the hood and trunk? Please help me plus pictures if you have some.

I know some people say paint it but I don't want to be stuck with it you know I'm just weird like that

As long as a quality wrap is used you will have no problems paint wise.

I work at a vinyl wrap place on top of my full time job as a painter.

As long as you have a good reputable shop who uses good materials you'll be very happy with the out come. My shop even guarantees the work for 5 years. Brand like Avery and 3M are good brands to use (my shop personally prefers Avery over 3M as it tends to have better flex properties, but the carbon fiber vinyl we carry is 3M which is still good)

These good brand vinyls have adhesive that are aggressive enough to hold to the car for as long as you want but still not destroy the paint. Some vinyls are more aggressive then others and depending on the aggressiveness it can dictate how hard the removal is.

As long as the vehicle is cleaned. Wipped down with a vinyl appropriate cleaner (white vinegar diluted with a little water) then cleaned with a good degreaser (isopropyl alcohol) then you won't have any problems.

When you peel the vinyl off whenever you do you should have the same paint you covered. Probably will look better then the rest of the vehicle!

It wouldn't look dumb. If you have a scheme, go for it.
