Guys once again thanks for all the input... I am going to order the ADM race scoop cold air. The reason I posted the question is because I've had people tell me both ways that it isn't necessary and that it is. I even had a performance shop that I'm positive all of y'all have heard of tell me that it isn't necessary. Granted it was the Internet sales guy that apparently wasn't properly trained at his job but that isn't my problem. I never had a problem with buying cold air but wanted to make sure it was going to be worth the upgrade after being told by the performance that it doesn't make a difference and it isn't necessary. Of all people u would think they would know!!!!

now the ADM race scoop is just a scoop and not a cold air intake.
what CAI are you getting with it?

Good choice!! You can't go wrong with it!! My opinion, it's the best combination out there when you combine the intake with the scoop! Made a huge difference on my car!

I like my K&N air charger and slp longtube headers with slp loudmouth 1 axle back exhaust. Some people dont like these at all, but its what I wanted. Most people tell you its a matter of what you want. This is what I wanted and got it. So do some research and get what you want. No need to argue. All CAI's are better on a Camaro than on a Mustang, right? haha

I am really pleased with my setup! Sounds like I am in a stock car when near a wall on the track and with relatively minor bolt-ons it is a blast. I am a believer in letting the motor breath and didn't want to go with a taller hood. Hard enough to see out of the one I have with the low roof.

I was checking out K&N 69-4519TP Polished Performance Intake Kit which promises 18.12 HP increase. Is that false advertisement?

If only want a intake for gains, don't get one. I enjoyed the sound of the intake over the gains which i never noticed.

now if you are tuning, its different story.

12hp gain sounds pretty good for $250.
I have a feeling I'll get flamed for this but to be honest, what interests me is the mpg gain. I also heard that its better for the engine in long run.
Having a V8, not sure how much of performance increase it would be at 12 or even at 18 additional hp.

I know right, same reason I got it before doing my cam and swapping with the Vararam, bigger cam means I need more air flow lol

The facts you speak of are the companies themselves trying to sell you their brand CAI and show you gains with JUST a CAI. I know they gain with other mods, I'm not retarded. a CAI is like a catback or an axleback by itself.....maybe a couple of HP but by themselves they don't help in terms of HP.

I am not a troll and I'm sorry if I "lost credibility" with you. Didn't know I had to earn credibility with all members. Some people understand what I mean, some people don't and there will be some people in life (and on these forums) that don't like me. OH well...that's life. All the cold air and catback threads are getting old and kinda ricer....I def learn a lot more from LS1 tech

Last time I checked JRE doesn't sell a JRE CAI, so his dyno results showing a Cold Air Induction's CAI giving more Hp than other CAI's is not "companies themselves trying to sell you their brand"

So you are saying a CAI by itself is only good for a couple of HP on a stock Camaro? I would think that 15-16 WHP, which has been tested and verified multiple times, on a stock Camaro no tune and no other mods is a pretty good gain and well worth the cost. Not to mention the other gains and benefits they provide other than just the added HP? I guess I am just confused as to the point you are trying to make here?
