Both at the same time if possible.

But....looks are primary...speed limit doesn't change regardless of how much performance your car has. Everyone will see it though, stopped or moving.

Performance, performance, performance. I personally bought a factory "custom" and have no desire to cosmetically change anything on this car. I've always been a minimalist in regard to cosmetic mods anyway.

For me it is more fun to drive a car with more power than to drive one that looks different, so I went for performance mods and only a couple of small inexpensive appearance things. Something I didn't even think about until it was done - a lot more people look at the car and ask questions about it since I got the cam, headers, and supercharger. I think the sound has attracted more attention than some custom body parts would. That wasn't my objective and has come as a bit of a surprise.

When it's all said and done, it's your car. Do what YOU like. Obviously it never hurts to take the wife's input to heart. If you can make the car something she'll enjoy, she may give you less grief when you say "just one more mod please" (they know we are lying to ourselves, and them when we say this )

On a personal note, I've done a good balance of mods so far. I think drop springs can qualify as both a performance mod and a cosmetic mod, tires and wheels could be classified as both also.

I also take the minimalist approach cosmetically. A little can go a long way... You don't need to make your car look like the parts catalog of your favorite aftermarket vendor to make a statement. The best cars are modded cosmetically in a fashion that makes them look as though they came from the factory that way. That's my personal preference though. Some folks like the "over the top" look but I like the slightly customized look with a healthy dose of improved speed and handling.

This thread turned out to be even more insightful than I had actually anticipated. It is real interesting to hear the different approaches you all have taken. Seems to be a fair mix on both sides.. AND I got a spelling lesson to boot.. =)

I'm in the same boat. Just got my Camaro on Saturday and not sure what to do first. Well for one I got it tinted already to 20% and got OEM sunroof installed on LS. Was thinking CAI next but really like the Razzing V6 kit. I did black out the emblems as well. I'm torn.

You put a sunroof in your car and didn't post a thread on it?
