Amplifier or out of deck?

Anyone know if the car has an amp somewhere after the deck or is everything done in the deck?

If it is the BA system, there is an amplifier in the trunk. I can't speak for the stock system.

Is it the thing behind the carpet behind the driver taillight? It says only "GM" on it, no BA or anything.

yes it will be behind the plastic/carpet stuff on the driver's side "wall" of the trunk.

And the BA system comes with the external amp and BA speakers, Non BA cars wont have the amp in the trunk

There is no such thing as unaccessable in a car - tools, know how, and patience will help get anything out of any car, no matter how funky it's built.

If they put it in, you can take it out.

Cool, that's the one I thought it was, I'm making a fiberglass system for the car so I'll put a build log in soon. Anyone know if the signal digital to the amp? aka when putting it into the bitone.1 should i intercept it on the way to the amp or after the amp from the speakers?

Does it have a Sub-out? Or is that part of the Sub-upgrade through GM?

No way...that amp is used to power the 7 speakers already installed in the car. If you can even somehow manage to hook up a subwoofer to that amp, you are probably going to overwork it and fry it in a heartbeat anyway....and that is if you can even manage to get it to put out enough power to sufficiently push a "small sub woofer." Just spend the $400 and buy a JL 250x1 and properly power your sub woofer. It will never over heat...never breaks...works WONDERFULLY.... I have nothing but good stuff to say about JL.

Leave the stock amp ALONE!

In fact, I'll ask how they did mine to be on the safe side for you. Just remind me...

I did it between the amp and speaker on my 4th Gen and never had an issue with it at all. LOVED it.
