Should I keep my Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Protection Plan?

I got it when I bought my camaro last month. Oddly it is a Chrysler Mopar plan. If I cancel I can get $712 back toward my loan.

I am really going back and forth with this. The plan is for 5 years. It will expire sooner if I have 4 claims (tire or wheel). There is no deductible, but I am essentially paying interest with this for the duration of my loan.

I would appreciate some opinions. If I cancel before 5/15 I will get a full refund.

My road hazard already paid for one rear with a razor knife blade in it at 8 mos & 16,000 mi. I'd hare to have to pay for a wheel if I scrubbed a curb.

I also got a 5 year plan, but it also covers glass and battery in addition to tires + wheels. And, it was only $200 so a no brainier. It seems like a lot of dealerships overcharge for these plans so I'd be tempted to cancel for that reason alone. I guess it depends on what it would cost to replace / repair what you have. You might also want to see what your normal auto insurance covers, would they cover wheel repair if needed?

Seems too high. Wheel repair is only about $100 a wheel around here. tire $200-300 or so...I would self insure at that price.

Some things are not covered and you do not find it out tell you have a problem. Ask about chug hole damage?

IMO, I would say no. $712 is a heap... I only pay $17 per tire for Road Hazzard... in the last 4 years, I've only had to use it once for a screw that found it's way into the sidewall of my tire. No hassel whatsoever. What would be the price of replacing a tire? It's highly unlikely that all 4 tires would need to be relaced at once, unless you have a chick on stalkerstatus.
