protecting your ZL-1 from lovebugs?

well time is here again for the hated lovebug season. i recently saw a friends truck that had been sprayed with plastic dip or plastic coat cant remember which. he had told me it goes right on the paint and peels right off. i was considering spraying my front fascia with this for lovebug season and then peeling it off after. anyone familiar with the product or used it on the auto paint? pesky lovebugs etch your paint as soon as they dry and they dry almost upon impact in the florida sun. its impossible to keep them off your car

I recommend that you post your questions on the cosmetic waxing etc section of the forums and you will receive alot of helpful advice there.

Clear bra would be a nice permanent solution. I feel for you on the lovebugs! Those things are everywhere this time of year!

I just took a trip through Alligator Alley, and it was just the beginning of love bug season. The only thing I do is just wash the car as soon as I get home. I've also noticed that the local bird population apparently has GPS guided crap! Three times in a row they dumped right on the drivers side door handle!!!

I hate to say it bit the best solution is to park it for a few weeks until they are gone. If not maybe the clear plasti-dip? IDK but I'm driving my work truck for the next few weeks... :banghead:

Problem is that the love bugs splatter at a single sideways glance. Any and all leading edges of your car is susceptible. Those SOB's will glide over your car and splatter on the deck lid glance off of the roof and their guts are made of muriatic acid or some other corrosive liquid.

Why thank you. I just learned something new. I have to say I have never seen them before around Pa. I thought maybe they were talking about the stink bugs that plague us here in the summer of which there is nothing to love about them.

i think they only exist in florida and the southern states. they are a man made bug that was bread to eat mosquitos but mysteriously escaped into the world and multiplied. we get lovebug season twice a year usually before summer and sometime before fall.
