Cheap grille appearance upgrade

Was out in the garage and discovered yet another cosmetic use for this red 1/8th inch wide adhesive trim. Ran a strip around the center of the grille and along the edge of the parking lights and creates a closed in appearance which turned out better than i imagined. Contrasts well on top of the front fascia blackout . Thought id pass it along... they make this strip in several different colors.

That looks great. I've always admired the red piping around the grill on the GTI's but never thought it'd look good on the stock grill. I was wrong. Great job keeping the lines straight. Who made the striping? Good work.

This is actually a really good idea. Looks slick and makes the stock grill look attractive for a change.

Thanks alot everyone, yeah its the striping from ebay with the 3m adhesive there are several manufacturers. I used turtle wax decal and adhesive remover to clean the area so the 3m strip would take. I was somewhat worried about fading and weathering but its in the garage quite often so i figured it should last for some time. ALso looks great as dash and door panel trim as well!

Love the splash of color you've done. Not overpowering the interior with red, and makes it look clean. Great job! Does interfere with ABL?
