Warranty is about out so......

Hi guys, new first time poster.
My Factory warranty is about to expire on my 2010 2SS , I think its time to add some pizazz.
Been looking at SLP Performance Header System.. they clam 30HP ?http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sle-30213/overview/

any thoughts ? Is this a good choice ?
Only mods done to my car are GM performance mufflers and a Diablo tuner
Thanks for any info.

Lots of good headers out there. My personal preference is Kooks. I'd go with Kook's 1 7/8 headers with catted mid pipe (or race pipe) that connects to stock exhaust.

And yes, with tuning you can see 30 rwhp.
My car is 4 years old with full bolt ons and tuned. I'd get your car dyno/street tuned by a skilled tuner in your area. It will run noticably faster.

I assume that the bumper-to-bumper warranty is about to expire, you will void the separate powertrain warranty won't you?

For that kind of money you can get a much better set of headers. SLP has huge brand recognition and they take full advantage of it. If you are going to pay a premium price look at Stainless Works, ARH, or Kooks and get full 304L stainless steel headers that are made in the USA. 30+rwhp is expected with any of those brands plus more with the proper tuning. If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM or give us a call.

If you have unported heads and stock cam and never plan on doing these things should you really be buying 1 7/8" headers?

That's always been the great debate.

I actually take my car to a very cooperative dealership. I've always been up front with my dealership about all my mods (bolt ons + tune and 4 years old) and I've never been denied any warranty parts/services.

I just recently had several parts replaced (under my powertrain warranty) and my car is tuned with bolt ons.

But after saying that, I wouldn't expect the dealership to pay for a new tranmission if mine exploded on my way to work.

LG 1 7/8 longtubes with their 3" high flow cats and their full 3" exhaust. Quality and horsepower is second to none.
