Just joined!

Hey guys,

Not exactly sure of the protocol here, but I just joined this forum and I wanted to thank everyone for being such a great place to find info on my new Camaro. I just purchased my 2011 Synergy Green RS/2SS (L99) about 4 weeks ago and I figured it was time to join since I'm always on this site anyways!

I found the car in Indiana (I live in WI, near the MN border) and it only had 5K miles on it. They took my 2011 Charger R/T AWD (Toxic Orange) in on trade and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I've already installed the axle-back Borla 'Atak' system, K&N "Typhoon" CAI, Stainless Power LT 1 7/8 headers and high-flow cats and she's running really nice! Actually taking her to the track this Saturday and I'm anxious to see what she'll run?

I do have a quick question though. I absolutely loved the way the 'Atak' exhaust sounded (before) the headers were installed. As much I like LOUD cars, she might be a little much under WOT now? I've done some research and it sounds like the "S-type" Borla system might be my best choice for a little less volume, while still sounding mean? My 'Atak' system is basically brand new and I'm wondering the best way to go about trying the "S-type" axle-back system and selling my 'Atak' system. Here's the catch though. I'd like to purchase the "S-type" system and bolt it up before I part ways with my "Atak" system. I'm a little nervous about drone since I currently have NONE. She's loud, but unless your really in it, it's actually not too bad.

Any advice, or is anyone (without headers) interested in a good deal on an Atak system should I decide to go the S-Type route? It really was perfect without headers. Even my wife loved the way it sounded.

Thanks guys!!

John

Sounds like you need to just buy the new kit and bolt it up. Then if you like it more, sell your first kit. If you don't like it as much sell your second kit.

John, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

My advice is to stay with what you have. The louder the better at most in here will say. If you have no drone and its only really loud under WOT then if you ask me that's fine. But congrats on the Camaro and welcome to the site

Congrats, and I would wait a few weeks to be sure you think the exhaust is too loud.

Welcome, love that color, LOL!

If I may, what was the asking price for your SS? Curious as to whether or not the color is adding any value to the car.

No worries. The reason that I drove so far to get this one, is because I thought it was a great deal (and it had really low miles). I bought it for just over $31K. It's a loaded RS/2SS with everything except a moon roof. I definitely think this color has added some value as well. I cannot believe how much people go out of their way to compliment it as well. Pretty cool!
