New ZL1 Day!!!!!!

Never thought I would be typing that title!!!!! Picked up my dream car today.....ashen grey M6. Traded my trusty 2010 IOM 2SS for it without even thinking twice (as well as selling one of my beloved Les Pauls for down payment funds). The car is a beast.....I always thought my SS was a beast of a car but the ZL1 just feels angry and pissed off at the world and ready to prove it. My buddy has a 2012 GT500 which is an amazing car in its own right (which I have driven) but the ZL1 has twice the feel and feedback plus the blower sings it's sweet music at a much more audible level than the Mustangs.

So with that being said any advice to a new owner?
Things to watch out for?

The only option my car didn't include which I regret not having is the exposed carbon fiber hood insert. First mod will be blacked out emblems and a RotoFab intake.

Thanks and super happy to be a member of the ZL1 club!!!!
Michael

Totally know what you mean, I want to do some mods so bad and I'm looking around to see which other toys I can sell to do that.

I'd say eye of the beholder, I bet that painted insert looks sweet on that color of car....

Which brings me to my next point, will not be as bad as my black, but your car is going to be eat up down the sides with rock chips because of that wide rubber she wears. I highly, highly, highly recommend before you take her all over town showing her off that you get some sort of clear bra on the sides. Either the whole side or at least from the "break" down from wheel well to wheel well to combat it. I didn't because I didn't know about it or the chips.

As for me, I've decided the paint being chipped like that is a badge of honor since these cars are so bada$$ they have to have that wide rubber.

Welcome to the club, congrats, I recommend a strict minimum of one Mustang a day diet to keep her fit and trim.

You think that blower whines now? Install the Roto-Fab. Easy install, good sound, great look and adds 25-30 RWHP! Congrats on the new ride. Listen to this:

Congrats and enjoy the car. When I first started up my ZL1 at the dealer, the sound sold me.
