CAI Intake - $399?

Is that the right price? I have seen a majority of intakes in the $250-$300 range.

Is this a get what you pay for? I was under the impression most of these have the same performance production and sound - injen, rotofab, etc

http://www.coldairinductions.com/sto...old-air-intake

Am I missing something?

That is correct, CAI Inc intakes systems are $399.99. You can get free shipping from some vendors.

AND...you do get what you pay for. I had the same pricing reservations, but after checking the options, it's an awesome system and worth the extra $$$.

A similar deal can be had from juiced motorsports also... IF you can find it that is... I've never purchased from them, but I've never read of any problems from them on here... If you order from Apex you will get it so fast you won't remember you ordered it. I'm thinking of placing an order from Apex tomorrow because I need the item I want like yesterday.

Can't go wrong with this intake. I installed mine like 2 weeks ago and there's a noticeable difference. I love it

Really? Good to hear. I do like the way roto fab one looks but consensus is this one shows most gains

Once you open it up, install it, youll realize you aren't putting in some POS molded plastic intake junkbox. Stainless steel, perfect fit, it looks like car jewelry not something someone made in their garage. Buying a 25-30K car and saving $50 on something like this is just dumb. BTW notice how NO ONE has anything bad to say about it....you get what you pay for bro!!

Agreed! I haven't heard a lot negative really about any of them. I'm just going to go for it, I can't decide if I should go with black or with the stainless/chrome look..

It costs $100 per 1% increase in RWHP. Not quite a 5% increase overall by CAI's own numbers. So on a good day you get 4% more horsepower for $400. In Seattle $400 is the average monthly tab at Starbucks.

Go with the stainless look. You can always paint or plastidip it black if you want. And peel it off when ever you want. Just saying 😜

Yes black or stainless the CAI is beautiful. The couple times I have shown mine to peeps they always say "wow". The sound and performance are just added perks too. Dont put molded sprinkler tubes on your Chevy.

Not trying to knock CAi since it is a great product but the one downside to this CAI is heat.

If you track your car the stainless pipes will hold heat a lot more than say a root fab plastic tube will.

Food for thought.

False. Thermal imaging has proven that plastic holds in more heat than the metal tubes.
