Camaro L99 American Racing Headers (Catted) system with stock exhaust = +42rwhp
We dyno'd the SS last night after installing the American Racing (Catted) system with stock mufflers. For comparison, we used my BEST stock dyno run...I certainly "could" have picked my worst stock dyno to make the gains look better and if I were selling a product that probably would be smart, but I'm "keeping it real" so you know what it really did. (all numbers are SAE corrected, Same dyno for all pulls).
My best dyno stock was 321rwhp/332rwtq, by best with headers + tune was 350rwhp/370rwtq for gains of 29rwhp at peak/38rwtq at peak. At its maximum gain over stock it picked up 42rwhp @ like 5300rpm and 42rwtq @ like 4200 rpm. I will put some sounds clips up soon. It is as quiet as stock with the cruise set @ 80 mph, but it definitely wakes up at WOT. On my auto we didn't see the 50rwhp/45rwtq that was claimed (which I assume was on a 6sp manual car). However, if you figure dyno variation, weather differences between stock and modded pulls, and the different amount of power gained between manual and auto, I think my numbers are in-line with the advertised claims. ADDED: video of 0-60 run after mods:

I'm not sure on the exact price but somewhere around $1850 + tune ($200-$400).

42 rwhp gain and you're still running the stock catback!
That's really good. I'm sure your car acts like a completely different animal now. Very nice.

The axel back is the same on both M6 and A6...the difference is in the middle...their is a huge resonator on the A6 (to supress the sound of the AFM kicking in).
With TM gone from the Tranny and the headers on, it has certainly become a quicker ride. And now it sounds appropriate for what it is.

Nice gains, I will be putting the ARH system on my L99 in the next week or 2, I will be real happy with the same increase in power.

Honestly I don't really know what's available yet the car is still so new that I have'nt seen an aftermarket system up close yet everyone is still scrambling to get parts out. Ultimately it will more than likely be a Borla system or something custom fabbed with our mufflers if it were my personal car.

I just ordered my Corsa Catback (ships Monday!), after I buy my Vararam CAI, ARH are next on my list! Does anyone sell them without the cats and if so how much?

^I'm sure Tom or Nick would hook you up with a catless setup...but I guess my question would be why would you want to...the high flow cats they use are a minimal hp robber and you can always run cutouts to gain that totally roudy sound everyone wants. With no cats, you will have to deal with the "gas" smell, fail emissions, and probably have some interior drone.
I'm just saying....I've been there on both my TA and TBSS and if you can get high flow cats that don't restrict on power, I'd personally rather run those, especially on something I'm gonna drive alot. If its just a weekend car for you, then I guess that may be a little different. I've got a wife to deal with, so I don't have a choice.

^Andy, do you have any sound clips of that....That's basically what I was thinking about, but it has to be a wife approved sound level so I need to hear it. The fit/finish is great as uaual from you guys!

May also install the 3" dual in dual out up front...this is how I do the Vettes. If you look at magnaflow production exhaust for the camaro you will see they do it this way as well. Andy |
