We picked up our 2SS/RS LS3 yesterday with the exception of the painted engine cover. The dealership didn't know what the deal was with it, but I'm pretty sure it's a dealer installed option. We already paid for the cover, just waiting to get it. Am I correct in assuming it's a dealer installed option and if so, is there a delay in getting these things out to dealerships?

Yes they are installed at the dealer - They are currently on Back order along with most of the accesories.

Yep, been waiting since June 3rd for painted cover- still not here!

Hey guys, first post. I just left my dealership after ordering my IOM 2SS/RS. I tried to
order the painted engine cover, and could not. Salesman said it wasn't a backorder thing. He said they are having problems with the paint staying on the cover due to the heat.
He told me one of his customers cars was delayed for 3 weeks waiting on the engine cover he ordered with the car. Hopefully buy the time my car comes in I will have a third party option to add one.

I did the painted engine cover but if I had it to do over I would just paint my own and keep the $245ish.

That's the way I'm going. It certainly allows for more "personalization".

Mine was left off as well. Still waiting since 06/02 . Dealer has no idea when it will arrive.
