Pep Boys Speed Shops in store

I was jiving around in my local Pep Boys in Manassas and noticed a HUGE change......

They now have test speed shops in Manassas(VA), Fredericksburg(VA), Marlow Heights(MD), and Waldorf(MD)..... as well as others across the nation.....

One can get everything from CAI's to Cat back exhausts and Mickey Thompson tires in stock on the shelf......

It's like being on the websites except now its in the store.....

But the most amazing thing was the CAI's and stuff were much lower than I could even get them on Amazon or anywhere else for that matter....

I mean they had the High Flow Cats from Magnaflow and Flowmasters on the shelf right in my face..... intake manifolds the works....

Top that off with a lot of in stock items for the Gen5 Camaro.........

Oh and the word is if they sell it they will install it.....

I heard about a Pep Boys speed shop opening up around here real soon, they are having a car show at the grand opening. Anybody here old enough to remember "Super Shops" speed shops back in the day?

Yeah I probably will get most installs elsewhere but buying the parts from Pep Boys at these prices is a no brainer....
The word is they are expanding.....

I was absolutely rockin' (not the term used in those days )Jensen triax 6x9's in my Ford Maverick, connected to my Pioneer Supertuner III 8 track under dash player. Get this... I traded the Supertuner to a friend of mine for a set of Hooker Headers. They were for a V8, my car was an inline 6.

Sorry... and you can tell Manny, Moe and Jack: Nothing--- NOTHING--- can ever get me into a Perp Boys. Thieves in a store, with a ripoff ethic very similar to the chain "repair" joints (Jiffy Lube, Midas, Firestone, etc... not one of them will give you an honest deal (they will even admit that they don't make any money on those "honest deals," they MUST fix Fetzer Valves, flush oil reservoir pumps, rebuild transmission plenums, adjust gasket bearings, drain exhaust manifolds, refill bulb housing manifolds, and POSITIVELY must always change your air filter and wiper blades (for $75 each) or else your car will PROBABLY explode on the way home... lucky they care, and caught it!). Perp Boys does the same... they have lost me forever, and preaching that gospel helps to prevent others from getting ripped off.

Thumbs down No, No NO!!!

Several years ago before we bought the Camaro, I had a simple flat tire at 8:30 PM and was leaving on a trip the next morning. The only place that was open as Pepto Bismo Boyz and reluctantly, unfortunately, regretably I went in to have it repaired.
The nightmare that I thought was some kind of hidden camera/punked episode turned out to be real horror.
As I watched from the waiting area I saw the jerk who was trying to fix the flat was having a yelling match with another employee. Now get this - he gets mad at the other guy working there and.... throws a hammer at him!!!!! The hammer just misses the car the other guy is working on.
I run into the repair area, start screaming every thing that I could think of.
The manager comes into the area and I relay the story.
It gets worse. Because the guy wasnt paying attention,it turns out he scratched the rim, and ruined the tire beyone repair.
The manager fired him on the spot offered to have the rim repaired and replace the tire (which was discontinued).
I rejected the offers, asked for $ and never looked back....
Have my car touched by a Pepto Bizmo Boy?....NEVER, EVER.....

I feel your pain on letting anyone work on my car.....
BUT being able to get a high flow cat for under $100 is worth it....

Heck they are selling the same thing that I am waiting for online except it is in my hand....

I like the idea and wondered when someone was gonna do it....

I mean we are talking Magnaflow and Flowmaster.....

And the others that refill NOS in the area choked on their drink when they found out how much they were doing refills for..... they couldn't believe how cheap they are selling things for either......
