I bought my ZL1 after having seen the C7 Vette, so that explains how I feel.

I doubt you are alone in wanting the C7. Maybe you should wait awhile after they've been out and see if you still have the "gotta have it" feeling. If you get one now, how will you feel when they announce the 'Z06' in a year or so?

My local dealer took it's first stingray build allocation and told me I could have the second. I waited several weeks with everything spec'd out for a track worthy stingray and the dealer never got the build allocation. My car was going to cost about 67K. I saw the used 2013 ZL1 for sale and did a little math and decided I could make an awesome ZL1 for about what a good stingray would cost me. I have no regrets now as no Stingrays have been delivered yet and I'm fairly certain my ZL1 will spank the stock stingray on any venue.

Not as easily as you may think, especially vs. a Z51 equipped Vette on a road course.

Since I don't have a ZL1 yet, I am considering the Stingray instead. Does that count?

Road course is my venue of choice. The stingray is supposed to be good but it is all hearsay at this point, it has been proven already that a modded ZL1 is amazing.

No, I bought my car to keep, and if a tree falls on it the only thing I would replace it with is the Z/28 which I would buy to keep. Oh I drive my car, it's not a garage queen, daily driven, but I plan on being buried in it when the time comes.

Even though I grew up in a yuppie suburb of Birmingham, being from Alabama I'm still too much of a redneck for a Corvette to be my one car, now if I win the lottery, I might add one to the stable.

Yes....trade it and get the C7. I'm hoping more ZL1 start showing up for a good price once the C7 comes out and people rush to trade them in.

All kidding aside...I'm not a big vette person at all and the C7 definitely has my interest. I can't wait to see one in person.

I kept my 2010 2SS/RS and bought a 2013 ZL1 for my wife about a year ago. I'm fine with the purchase but I kinda wish I would have waited to buy her the C7 that way I could have one of each. Not sure if I'll trade or sell the ZL1 to get a C7 just yet but I am #5 on a list for one at my dealer. They ordered their 1st allocation about a month ago so I'll wait to see how it looks in person before I decide.

I optioned out a C7 and a 2014 ZL1, and they are almost the same price for the equipment that I chose. With the $ for the cars so close, many folks will probably take the C7 or at least seriously consider it. No GG tax and potentially better performance stock to stock make the Vette a better buy if you don't need the extra seats.

This topic will need to be reposted after the C7s hit the street and the reviews come in.

I'm pretty impressed with the C7 also. I think the performance will be a notch above the ZL1. I had a good look at the bare aluminum space frame that they had on display at Indy. It's very ridgid like a race car. The weight will be several hundred lbs lighter than the ZL1.
Probably keep my ZL1 anyway but sure can't wait to drive a Stingray.

I would offer this: each time a new corvette (C4, C5, C6) comes out, the first model year is the worst. The engine is usually weaker than in subsequent years and they don't offer a Z06 option.
Wait until the second year of production, then stack the two cars against each other. By then I bet the decision will be even tougher.
