Brake Calipers

As you can see, my calipers a were a bit naff. Some one has obviously sprayed them with TFR or something similar at some stage & it's stained the paint. (looks like a seagull has shat on them to be fair)

So today I thought I would set about them (actually one, so far)
Cleaned, sanded & primed.

The disc centres also have little or no paint on them

So I gave those a clean & prep & a coat of satin black.
Due to my recent yellow decal set up, I thought I would tie the calipers in with that. So after the primer went on a few good coats of yellow, followed by new Brembo logo's & finished off with clear coat.

Finally with the wheel back on & I like!
What do rekon' boys?

Only 3 more to go

Brave to take it on. Great job by the look of it and the end result well worth the effort. PITA having to do 4.

Where did you get the Brembo decals from?

Hi Rick, Brembo decals from Image Works, same guy who did the yellow decals on the car, in fact, I got him to do them at the same time, so I could do these when I had a spare hour or 4

Wow, looks great! Very Porsche Ceramic ish! Makes me a little disappointed that mine look ok because I can't warrant having a go myself! Black alloys next?

I know what you mean with black allys, but tbh on the black car, I personally prefer the titanuim colour, that's on them

I agree, mine's exactly the same! The yellow would just stand out that little bit further. Didn't know if that was the look you were going for or not, would look sweet! Used to have red calipers on a car, then when I got black alloys after 9 months, everyone thought I'd painted the calipers too!

PS- did you brush or spray?

Sprayed the caliper, the disc centre I just brushed. I used Hammerite smooth for that, in satin black. They are really simple, cos' you just hold the brush still & turn the disc, sorted. plus if you get a bit on the disc, by the time you've pressed the brake twice, it's gone.

Sprayed the calipers? That looks tricky. Must've done some serious masking! Do you have to use Iceland carrier bags or will Asda do? Just kidding! Seriously, great job, love it! Post the final ones on soon when you've done them all, probably with a before with wheels on (ie LHS before you paint them)

Will do. They are not too bad to mask in all honesty. I would say it took around an hour to an hour & a half, total job time, but a lot of that is waiting in between coats of paint, for drying time.
The Iceland bag is VITAL, nothing else is nearly as cool! d'ya get it, d'ya get it
