3M Paint Defender Spray Film

Anyone tried the 3M Paint Defender spray on clear film?

http://www.shop3m.com/3m-paint-defender-spray-film.html

Tried the "search" function and came up empty.

I actually just ordered it (just the can). Going to pick up some film (the applicator kit only adds film and tape, not worth $12) from Home Depot and hopefully try it this weekend on the side mirrors and rocker panels.

I'll put up a review when I do it.

Interested to hear. I just had the 3M clear bra installed so I'm good for at least 5 years. If this is easy and works as well then I may use this next go around.

I think a clear bra is a better choice for a bumper as it's quite a bit thicker, but for small areas like mirrors or rocker panels, or for drag racers on the rear fender this could be quite useful.

That's more like an ad than a review.

Proof I got it. I will say Amazon way overpacks their stuff

It comes with a can and a pack of synthetic wax that supposedly helps in removal of the product.

I will say it's a bit deceiving of how much is needed.

On the inside of the front is a flap panel with recommended usage.

For the following areas here's the recommendation of cans needed

Leading Edges - 1 can
Full Hood - 2 cans
Front Bumper - 1 can
Mirrors - 1/4 can
Rear Bumper - 1 can
Trunk Lid - 1 can
Rocker Panels - 1 can

So if you're looking for extended areas you may need more than one can.

..............and at $24.95 a can, it's likely the same or more than having the film applied.
