Sorry, I understand how Avg. speed factors into the Avg. MPG but not in this thread.

...then again it would be helpful to the OP to see who has the same Avg. speed as them and than see the delta of MPG. but this an old topic...

You don't buy the V8 for gas milage...

That being said, I averaged 17-19 most of the time for my daily driving with mine.

Ok guys tips on this deal....29k synergy green 2ss 15 k miles. trade in my Ls with 45k miles in for 16k am I crazy? Or is that ok?

$16k for an LS is on the low side to me. I myself would try for closer to the $18k mark for trade in or you need to get a couple grand lower on the 2011 2SS. Dealers biggest profit margin is on trade-ins and they would be making a killing and then some on that deal. JMO.

Switched from a 2LT/RS 2o A 2SS/RS, weekly driving fell from 20 to 17.5, and the highway from 29 to 24.

Keep in mind, the cost difference from Regular to premium. Here it is about 35 cents a gallon higher.

And yes, this is the same commute that I did in the 2LT.

Do I enjoy it? Hell yes. The gas is affordable for me, but if it will bother you...think about it...

If my calculations are correct, it cost me about 23 cents a mile in the V8 vs 18 cents a mile in the V6.

So, the decision is yours.

six speed v6 and the dic says 19.8 and its sideways everywhere is go. the sad part is i rationed the v6 over the v8 as i dont need another car to do stupid things in.

You will notice a difference in fuel costs. Most of which will be because you will be using Premium only. MPG is only half the equation.

A 2012 LS for a 2010 SG for 16,000? Ehhhh I dunno man. I personally wouldn't have the SG, I've seen it and I think it's gaudy and ghetto looking, but some around here love it.

I think you could find a better deal than 16,000. I know it's a base model going to an SS, but still.

Another thing to consider is this: the Synergy Green is a difficult color to find, and most people really like it (like me). Also, to find a green SS is also probably difficult, so I'd say go for it; you only live once, and I want to have a good time while I'm here and still healthy enough to enjoy life. You'll miss the car you didn't get much more than you'll miss the $ you're going to spend. You'll always make more $, but finding another Synergy Green SS will be difficult. Go for it.

Your absolutely right I'm working in a deal now looks like 18k for the ls 29 for the 2ss/Rs in Synergy Green!

To give some perspective, I bought my 2011 LS from a dealership this December for $17500. It's CPO and only had 35,000 on it when I bought it. So 16k doesnt seem that bad for a trade in to me

I didn't come from a v6 camaro, however I average 20-21 mixed driving about 60/40 hwy/city...

In my zip NADA shows just a tad over $20k retail which means a dealer here will ask around $21k. A dealer would also be asking around $32k for that SS also which is the reason I drove south to the twin cities to pick up my LT. That SS southern part of this state a dealer would be asking around $28k. I see the OP got to $11k difference I myself have dealt with enough salesmen and it is JMO but I would offer $10k to boot and see if they would take it. I bet he could get them down at least another $500 and meet in the middle.

They are actually going to make money on both ends since that SS was traded in or bought from an auction and I can just about bet they got it for around $26k if they are asking $29k for it.

Also, the dealer I dealt with gave me the sob story that my trade in they were only going to ask $6900 for it and offered me under $4k, I got my clean trade in value close to $6k. The Monday after I got home their website had my car listed at $8900 and it was gone by that Wednesday. I am guessing they got close to $8k for it.

If you really love the green, then go for it. You will find some haters but they are way outnmubered by the people who will love the green color, comment never cease.

That trade deal stinks unless you just absolutely have to have the green. The dealer has you by the balls on that one, they want premium money for the used 2011.

You could get a much better deal if you would compromise and pick a second favorite color that is more common.
