Catch can Check Valve.. HELP

quick question, I while back I got a plain fitting to replaced the check valve on the catch can because it was making noises which we decided probably was bad. After a long moving cross country and more BS.. finally I get to look into this.. My questions is how do I remove the check valve from the catch can?? I can see that the outlet (outside one) can be unscrewed; however, the center wont let me do that. I cant figure out how to get the center fitting out either. I pull it out and no luck.. IDK what to do.. by the way I am guessing the center is the check valve.

Any advice is welcome.. I attached a pic of the catch can so its easier to see what Im talking about.

Pull it out it's in there too. You won't break it just pull straight up and out it'll come. Mine was rattling so I pulled it apart to get check vavle out of it. So nice without the rattle make noise....:-)

Mine has been rattling for a while now. Just remove it? Is everything still going to work properly?
