Question Remove bubble wrap image texture transfer from new fender

I just received a new black painted fender. It came in the GM box with high density air bubble wrap.

Unfortunately the high density air bubble wrap used transferred some of it's texture to the fender.

I'd like to avoid polishing a brand new painted fender. The dealer I bought it from suggested rubbing compound. That sounds like a prescription for swirls.

Any idea how to remove this?

Try washing and claying. If not you'll probably need a minor finishing polish and polisher. Using a polisher doesn't induce swirls.

I'd request a replacement! A brand new painted GM part should be in brand new condition.
