I guess you like being baked in the sun on 100 degree days? I don't know where your getting this the impala is one of the worst, this stuff is all matter of opinion, the impala has a softer suspension vs the camry/accord stiffer suspension for better handling, some people prefer a softer suspension.

50-70 is horrible spot for an auto v6 lfx(I should know, I drove a rental one for a month straight) because 1st goes to 50 and 2nd to 80 or so mph.
Just sayin on the dyno that about right for the LFX. Chevy vehicle HP numbers are rated at the crank not to the rear wheels like a dyno measures. Same goes for most auto company's.

Who cares, my ls with 20" rs wheels gets compliments all the time. If its walking down the sidewalk or getting gas I always get the " Nice car ", from everybody for soccer moms, old guys, or young kids. When I had the 13 Camry se for a rental not a single compliment. Just enjoy the car.

I did a little research and it looks like for the 2011 model year, it's a dead heat. 6.1 seconds 0-60 for both cars. However, the new LFX makes more HP so it might be slightly faster.

Having said that, I think no car on the planet better signifies that the driver has given up all manner of coolness, driving pleasure, and that all too important "young at heart" feeling, than a Toyota Camry. Just saying the words sucks the testosterone right out of me.

Horsepower measured in a dyno at the rear wheels is different than the advertised horsepower which is measured at the crank. 257 doesn't sound too far off depending on wheels and such.

That's why I own a ZL1. I'm not worried about camrys. What do you expect when you buy a heavy car with a small motor. There are many v6 cars and some 4 bangers that will smoke a v6 camaro. The v6 is for someone that wants a stylish car with good gas mileage at a good price not because it's fast. That's why they make the SS and ZL1

V6 camaro is still faster than most new cars you can buy in its price range and it can be modified to be quite fast.

Nice my Accord has 255 whp and had zero torque steer. The only fwd cars with torque steer are the turbocharged ones like 1st gen MS3, course my friend's cobalt ss makes 300 whp but 360 lb-ft. Even then he has NO torque steer or wheelhop at all, he has taken the necessary steps to eliminate it. You need to educate yourself more on them, just because a fwd car has power doesn't mean it has torque steer.

FWD is just more efficient in lower hp applications, 240 whp rwd car has no advantage over a 240 fwd car both same weight. Because that's not anywhere near enough to overwhelm the front tires. My friend cuts 2.0 60 foots in his v6 accord manual on all seasons, yet most rwd cars at our track struggle to get 2.1-2.2 on all season street tire.

A 350z rated just 306 hp typically puts down 260-265 whp, a G37 rated 328 hp typically puts down 275-280 whp. When you look at cars with similar or less power rating putting more to the wheels then you understand my point. My friend's Mach 1 was rated 305 hp but put down 290 to the wheels... Seems like GM overrates them.

Its all about the drivetrain loss.

Take a look at this thread....two stock automatic 2012+ Camaro V6s putting down just about exactly 20% loss...which is typically what these automatics lose through the drivetrain.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233394

323HP with a 20% loss is 258rwhp. Actually, in my opinion, the automatics could be losing as much as 21%

They are not overrated.

There is even a stock manual putting down 284 HP....I'd say that's a bit high (I'd expect a manual to be around 270HP) but just more evidence that the car is not overrated.

qfmft... not that I hate on the V6s, I think they are in fact very sexy cars. But they weren't made to be "performance cars." That being said, and with them being camaros, they couldn't be a slouch either. And yes, there is some performance in there for the ones who wanted performance but couldn't afford a higher model, but it wasn't the main focus.

Personally I needed the performance. The only reason I didn't go with the ZL1, was it was too much when I plan on eventually doing a motor swap anyway. And the only reason I didn't go with the 6 was because I wanted more umph until I got around to building / purchasing one.

Hate to be "that guy" but if you truly needed performance, then why not buy a Sportbike??

Why do I ask?? Because this is coming from someone who spent 10 years in the sportbike world, and believe me. You won't find anything close to the "bang for you buck" than a Sportbike.

And I'm not some random squid either. I've logged dozens of track days. Yeah, not going in a straight line either. I'm taking road racing. I've managed to put down lap times that were consistently 10 to 15 seconds faster than the quickest cars that were at the track. I was on a 02 GSX-R1000 with minimal bolt-ons(exhaust, power commander and intake filter). But still with stock suspension, albeit a dialed in stock suspension. But when I could click off 1.43's all day long and dip into the 1.41's at my local track. The closest car guy I knew could only managed a 1.56-57's.

That's an eternity at the track. And believe me, I'm not being a jerk either when I ask why not go for balls to the wall performance either. Because in my opinion, you can't go wrong with any Liter Bike that's out there. You'll eat 95% of the cars on the road, and if you can ride it, you'll eat 100% of all squids that challenge you. Believe me, nothing is more rewarding than when your local squid(s) come to the track to show off how fast they really are, only for you to lap them every 5 laps. They usually take it as a lesson learned and then never come back. Reason I got so fast, was I had friends that I made at the track and several of them were AMA pro racers. You'll learn more in a day by following a real racer around and learning their race craft.

Reason I bought my V6 Camaro, was I wanted a awesome looking car. I've owned three now(including this one) plus with fuel as high as it is. Getting 21-22mpg's in town is nice. Reason I got out of bikes, well I'm getting older and when you lose all of your friends that you ride with, the ride becomes less fun and more a labor of love or hate LOL!! I got sick and tired of getting cramped up on the bike. I switched to cruisers for a couple years and got rid of them because of NO POWER!! At least in my V6 Camaro, I can ride in A/C after a hot day at work. I get tons of compliments from the ladies all the time. Seems every time I pull into the gas station a woman will compliment the car.

It's a head turner. Yeah it's not an asphalt burner but then again, I really don't care. I've achieved speeds most people will never see in their lifetimes. My time for speed has come and gone and I'm only 32!! Now I'd rather just enjoy the ride, wave or thumbs up another Camaro owner when I see them and go about my day...

:(
Were both cars run on the same day driven by the same driver at the same location? What were the weather conditions at the time each test was done? If you don't know these answers comparing times that close is moot. On a different day or even location you may get different results.

For some reason the 2010 Synergy Green Camaro can do a 5.6 sec 0-60 and 14.2 quarter mile
