I would say a 50-60RWHP bump in power is all you should expect for a cam that will play nice with the stock converter and give stock like driveability. If you have the extra coin to do heads at the same time then you can expect 80+RWHP.

And the cam I have drove very well on the stock converter.

dont do the conversion!!!! i am at ~450 wheel with a tiny cam and cai and kooks headers and wcch treatment on my heads. flat torque curve. Cam needs the supporting bolt ons to breath.

Driveability with stock converter is a little about the restraint in cam size and ALOT about the tune.

what do you want from the cam? just noise or power? or both? if you want a big choppy cam a stall might be suggested. If its a mild cam stock converter is fine with a quality tune.

SPCBA what do you consider a "tiny" cam? Everyone has a different opinion of "tiny".Just curious.

Blake I want both that's pretty much what I was told but told him I want 100 more he said would need the converter and can only go so big with the stock one

your right it is subjective. Pretty much any cam tha retains stock driveability with stock converter I would consider tiny. I grew up with big blocks and cams so I would consider mine tiny.

100 for just the cam would be a tuners nightmare on stock converter. As some pros have said here too big a cam on stock converter and neither the customer or tuner is happy.

can you get 100 out of long tubes cai and some head work with your cam? easily i did better than that and kept vvt while ditching afm/dod. flat torque curve with oodles of power off idle...regardless if you keep vvt or not for the love of god get rid of the afm bits.

i am not a big peak numbers guy as my drag race days are over...i want usable power and overall averages.
If you come back go to ryne at cms

Im also wanting to go with a bigger cam but Im not sure which direction to go really. Probaly end up with a custom grind. My cam right now is 223/236 59?/60?

Getting lighter wheels and suspension mods first though

Opt for the melling 10296 it's cheaper and is a better pump. Also opt for the katech c5r timing chain, comp trunion upgrade.
