How To Remove Lightly Dried On Bugs Off Your Car

Recently, I made a video on how to remove baked on dried bugs off your car.

Here now is how I remove lightly or freshly baked on bugs off my car, while minimizing the potential to scratch.

Video in link, hope you enjoy

Awesome video and is almost the exact way I remove bugs from my front bumper as well.

Being a DD(80 miles a day), I get a ton of bugs on my bumper, and usually every time I get home I do this so as not to get etching. Of course having a nice sealed or waxed bumper aids in the removal of these pests as well and makes wiping off a breeze.

On a side note, I'm curious why the gloves on most videos? Is that the soon to be dentist coming out?

Nice, I'm glad you keep up with it! I have some etching from the days long ago where I didn't detail :(

I always wear gloves when I detail. It just makes it easier to take off the gloves when you're done and not have to worry about brake dust or any bug guts or anything on your hands at the end of the day. Also the gloves make your hands have more tactile feeling

You should see me when I'm using Meguiar's Wheel Brightener. I'm like a space man with all the protection I wear lol

Too funny! I didn't mean to poke fun or anything. It's just I have been working outdoors my whole life(roofing), and my hands haven't seen a glove since my college baseball days. I think if my wife saw me with a pair of gloves on she might have me committed!

It's bad enough I bumped into you guys and this forum, and now I spend a good portion of my time cleaning my car every other day!

Didn't take it that way at all!

I've worked in a microbiology research lab for two years and we had a rule, "You touch anything, you better be wearing gloves."

In my lab, I learned of PPE (personal protective equipment) and also learned to be wary of touching chemicals.

The truth is, many of these chemicals have been synthesized recently. No one knows if they cause issues with long term exposure. With that unknown, I think it's better safe than sorry. So I always wear gloves.

With the government and chemicals, often it is all about fixing the problem after it has occurred rather than knowing the issues beforehand. With the amount of products and chemicals coming out, it is an understandable, but unfortunate truth.

Wow, didn't mean to rant, sorry!

Your rants I can take especially if it has anything to do with cars. I totally understand where you are coming from with chemicals and such. The way I look at it, you go whenever your ticket is punched. I've seen joggers die of heart attacks at 35, and I have seen my grandfather smoke 2 packs and drink every day till he was 88. Wait what was this topic about?

Oh yeah. Can't wait for the half baked bugs myself!

Use this!! It's the only way to be sure. j/k!!

I use Zaino and by itself it works ok. But if I'm going on a long trip I spray a bit of Pam on a soft cloth and lightly wipe it across the front for extra. No bug guts will stick. Easy wash when I get where I'm going.
