You would think that's how they would handle their mistake

Surprisingly, with UPS and FedEx, workers still have to place the boxes from the conveyer into the right container. In this case, his issue could of been someone messing up, maybe a conveyor stopped and the box had to get taken off and put back on, or someone was just lazy and said "Oh well"

I had a package go from Illinois to KC, to Lenexa, to Wichita (where I am) to OKC, then back to Wichita and out for delivery. It made it to Wichita, the first time, in two days. I guess since I didn't pay for two day shipping, they felt it necessary to send it to OK so it would take normal shipping time of 5 days... they told me it was a computer error on their tracking system and that it never left Wichita... I thought that's what part of the tracking system was for, so they wouldn't have shipping errors.

I had a thread similar to this about a month ago, but they misplaced 2 of my zl1 wheels and tires. Keep calling them and bugging them.

UPS does indeed suck. $40 fee added to everything they ship across the border to Canada. We avoid UPS like the plague here because of it.

USPS is the way to go.

It's not that it went from il to wa that get me. It's that its gonna take a week to get back, you thunk since its their error that it would be expedited back and delivered.

This really depends on the area. For us it's the other way around. Fedex absolutely stinks and UPS is wonderful.

Correct. This was probably a 'mis-sort': a package that is sorted (loaded) onto the wrong feeder (tractor-trailer rig)

I worked for UPS as a package handler and driver for many years. Even as a UPS employee, I had UPS absolutely destroy car parts that were very rare.

The chrome strip for the nose of my 1970 Buick? Hen's teeth if it's in good shape. I bought a perfect one from Nevada once. Gorgeous.

When the UPS package arrived at my door, it looked like the package had been bent in half. The chrome piece was flawless...except that it was now broken into three pieces. Some percentage of packages get damaged or lost or mis-sorted when you ship millions a day

bear in mind that FEDEX is practically franchised by location and that FEDEX Express, FEDEX Ground, FEDEX freight, etc, are essentially different companies

UPS is shit IMO. They're not as bad as USPS, but they're getting there. FedEx or nothing.

They all suck. I ship a lot of stuff for work and they all have their issues.

Just recently UPS damaged my CF trunk lid I sold to a member and they won't cover it.

Last week I ordered a splitter and they lost it. WTF?

Well I'm sure it varies from region to region, how good the service is. Here, UPS and FedEx both are exceptional. I imagine the reason UPS gets many more complaints nationwide is because "On an average day, UPS handles 15.8 million packages. FedEx, by contrast, averages north of 3.4 million packages a day". *2012 figures*

UPS does Five Times the business. I do prefer FedEx though.

it happens from time to time, the scan label on the box gets damaged. all the info on shipping/destination, is on this, so if the computer scan cannot read it right, but still passes it can be sent to a different location than it's supposed to. if it's read correctly or catched by the system --they have scan cameras so they can hold it --,it's sent to a person that make another new scan label then affix to the box and put it back on the conveyers for it be sent at the right destination.. ups is king in logistics. and i don't work there.
