Unhappy My month old car already broke

First off, when I first got my car it would make a clunking noise whenever I would shift. I thought it was because it was a new car. Turns out I was very wrong. Last night I went out with some friends to eat and the car would even shake when I would start moving. Finally, when I went to go
make a u-turn my car didn't move when I was trying to accelerate. The engine would just rev. When the tow truck came and they lifted up the car all my transmission fluid came out and it turns out a link in some tubing was not tightened correctly from the factory and it just kept getting looser and looser until this happened. I expect this shouldn't take that long to fix but I am still camaroless

Wow, second one with tranny issues..Maybe this is something we all need to keep and eye on.

I hope everyone considering heavy mods considers this prior to those mods.

That really sucks!

Hope they get it fixed soon and you are out enjoying a night with the friends soon. You will have to make that up to them and show them what the Camaro can do with a good transmission.

And just so everyone knows the problem is not a problem that this specific transmission has. It was just not put together correctly. I am 99% sure that this problem will not be that common.

I have had the same issue since day 1. I had back 4 days after I bought it because it didn't sound right, but they insisted it was normal. Now, I also hear a "click" when releasing the clutch 95% of the time, and I may actually hear some slight chatter coming from the clutch. I told myself that I'd let it go until I'm done with the 1500 mile break-in, and take it back if it didn't go away. I'm dropping it off on Thursday. Keep us posted on what happens and I'll do the same.

This issue and the paint leave me wanting more in terms of quality.

Every GM stick car Ive owned (This car, 2k vette, 99 TA) let out an audible clunk from the clutch outside the car, usually i can only notice it when stopped. I just ignore it.

Just remember the M6 is made by Tremec, not GM. Subcontractor parts failures DO occur.. Not fun, but it happens. They will fix it.

I'm a car noob and still on my learning walkabout. Never had a car I really liked or cared about till now. Anyways... wouldn't the onstar diagnostics thing alert you to an issue with the transmission? Only real reason I activated my onstar was for issues like this.

It's sensor will not detect a physical mechanical failure in this instance.

It might have a sensor for low oil level in an automatic, so if it was an automatic it would warn you...but almost certainly not a manual.

A subtle "clunk" coming from the rear of the car (not the transmission) is normal. It's due to the independent rear end drawing up the slack as the power is being applied from the engine through the tranny and to the half shafts. If you're not used to IRS cars... you now have 3 U joints that the power has to go through to make it to the tires. The subtle clunk is the all 3 U joints drawing up any slack in the drivetrain practically simultaneously.

If you have a clunk from the transmission, that may point to a different problem...

What we have to remember is that the LS3 and MN6 tranny are NOT new... any issues with these components have HAD to have happened to C6 Vettes before the Camaros were produced, therefore parts should be more readily available. No worries guys, there's gonna be kinks... just keep posting about them and what your dealer does to fix em!

What do you mean by "a link in some tubing"??

Do you mean where the tail shaft connects to the drive shaft??

Now the QA team in area 51 will just have to do burnouts for quality control.
