Andy, the pics aren't there anymore. There is a tinypic box that says the video or image has been moved or deleted. First post on page two of the thread.

I used the stock one when I had the 4l80 as it was cool to look inside the car and think its still just stock. Ive now swapped to a th400 and running the Cheetah speed shifter.

Lightbulb Guys - 4L80e swap.... (Opinions and Inspiration ;) ...

Guys - headed here in a few weeks... Probing the boards and all of the posts from the many smart folks here that went 4L80e - and experiences. If you have any words of wisdom - tips - guidance - or links a PM would be BIG TIME appreciated... I know there is a a killer FAQ....

Like any moron, we worked on the rebuild for about 8 months plus, got our Dyno pulls done, managed some solid shakedowns, and now working to get away from the M6 to a 4L80e. Was actually planned all along but wanted to get to this point first.

Thanks again and know many of you have lived thru this. Going to 4L80e to keep some street drive in the car at least for now.

Converter should be in next week, 4L80e pretty heavily built for our HP the following week - curious on cooling and all of the other key elements of moving from M6 to this config ... and shifter just happens to be a small one but certainly important....

Thx all....

Mike - yes sir .... We just finally pulled the trigger and tranny, converter, and shaft in motion it's all of the little stuff we are trying to make sure and not overlook. We had the car down so long already working it constant - wanted to at least shake it down - and now trying to knock this out while not missing a lot of time.

I know Jason and several others have done this in short order so appreciate the great knowledge base here.

Thx guys

Hey bud, as I had said in PM... Run a VSS high signal to the ECU signal wire (You'll need a speed sensor, and some sort of espeedo box or your trans controller if you have one should be able to output).

Right now the ECU does not have a VSS signal so as far as the engine computer is concerned, you are always at 0MPH (Or 158mph on the 12+ cars). Doesn't matter for your swap at all it seems, but I have had to run this VSS wire out of our trans controllers before to stop throttle limitations over 6500rpm, some cars have this issue others don't...

M6 > 4L80e (Netral Safety and Backup Triggers)

Matt - all ....

Guys - I will post this in the DietCoke thread also - but "very close" to having my 4L80e installed (Matt thanks as always for the support and DSS parts on the 4L80 shaft).

The one thing we have left open is the "neutral safety switch" and what harness or other should we be using to connect this to? ..... Mine is an M6 > 4L80e conversion. The main reason I want this is obviously backup lights, but also the fact it triggers my backup camera which I do use pulling into the water box - trailer - other. ....

Tremendous people here so appreciate if you could help. I have searched all over and will continue to do so....

Thanks

People using the stock shifter. How are you getting into first gear to do a burnout?

I recently had a request on a shifter for the 4l80E, I came up with a DIY for modifying the stock shifter to utilize all the gear positions. It's quite easy. You will find it on 2nd page in the link below.

CFD made it possible to get to all the gears on the 4l80 with a stock shifter. I've done this which is very easy to do and mounted it to the trans. Goes through all the gears perfect.

Also I posted on that same thread CFD mentioned about how I was advised not to do a burnout on 1st. Just putting that out there for people to make their own decisions
