L99 vs LS3 eternal question

Considering a look at the 2013 SS now that the year is up. No factory upgrade exhaust for L99 it's for manual transmission cars only ?
How do you you "tune" out the variable valve timing on automatics and is it a performance increase or just a convience ? What exhaust system will benefit the L99 and still not drone ? What about the lifter issue ?
If I go with the LS3 is the short throw shifter worth it ?
Also, is the fuse pull issue over for 2013 L99 cars ?
Thanks.

If you get an ls3 you should really try the "long throw shifter" it really gives the car that "retro " feel.

The build your own on Chevys website lets me put the performance exhaust on an auto so I think that won't be a problem. I don't know why you would tune out vvt - it helps build better low end torque and doesn't pose any significant problems. People tune out the DOD or AFM to keep it running on all 8 all the time. This makes a huge difference and is very nice to have done. Can be done by a professional or with a handheld but will void warranty. Corsa seems to be drone free but you can add j pipes to kill drone on just about anything it seems, or just shift to stay out of that rpm range. I haven't heard of a lifter issue necessarily but if you plan on going with a cam upgrade you can do an LS3 conversion which will swap the lifters and physically remove the vvt and afm parts. The fuse pull is a low risk quick fix and really isn't anything to worry about. Just do it and don't put in regular. I don't know anything about the short throw shifter.

I tried to address everything to the best of my knowledge, you can reach out to any sponsor on here with any question regarding the mods you want to do and they can probably tell you if the LS3 will respond better than the L99. Ultimately, think about how you plan to use the car - if it will be a dd, do you want to deal with a manual in heavy traffic daily? If it is just for cruising would you miss the feel of a manual? Both engines are capable of insane power and can be very fun to drive you can't go wrong.

The long throw shifter delivering that "retro" feel. Designed to work with shorties and K&N intakes
