I like the Defenderworks gas cap

This cap is cool. It adds to the look and is built very well.

I like it to. I think I'm going to get the black one, though.

Wowza thx for the sweet pics. I was looking at those on their website the other day. I always like to see pics from an outside source before making purchases. I didn't see any listed price or ordering info on their site though? Did I completely miss a page or button?

But the GMPP gas cap is not locking, correct?

I understand that its really hard to siphon gas these days, but you know... a little added precaution... Plus no sugar in the tank.

Though I would like to see each of them set against a SIM car (not necessary installed... just to see how the colors go together) before I made a decision on which color I like best.

Correct. Without the lock, someone can steal the GMPP cap without any time or effort.

I never understood the reasoning for these.

Why highlight where you fuel your car?

I prefer the bodycolored cap myself.

GMPP is not a locking gas cap. I got my black lockable one ready for my Camaro delivery, I'll post those pictures once I have my Camaro.

Ok well apparently I am an idiot...having problems installing the Black Fuel Door Cover. Do we have a picture of the inside of the fuel door after installation? I had to shave down part of the locking clip in order to install the metal clip but the metal lock plate that extends out in front of the spring is in the way. Problem 2...when I install the new fuel door I cannot turn the lock because a part of the fuel door lever is butted directly up against it. Picutres in a couple minutes...this is probably operator error but one never knows...

Why not just get the black or aluminum one and get your dealer to paint it to match the colour of your car? This way it won't stand out as much as the chrome one and you will still have the protection of the locked unit.
If I remember correctly, Brian at Defenderworx said that any of these items are also available in thier raw state meaning no black powdercoating or chrome finish. This may be the way to go if you're thinking of having it painted.

$189 + $10 shipping - I got my brushed aluminum fuel door from Tim at http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Addicted-Auto-Accessories - I also bought the door sills from him - great service, fast delivery and no problems - I'll be ordering from him again.

Note the fuel door install instructions are in the defenderworx website "Product Photos" section at http://www.defenderworx.com/index.ph...d=28&Itemid=22

Cool! When I looked at the pic it looked like black plastic... but thanks for that info... That is an awesome idea and a nice compromise... I like the "idea" of the gas cap w/logo, but don't care for it to stand out, so that is a great idea! Yay! I think I will do that!

I have a black one on mine. I will say the lock clip is pretty cheesy/weak. Maybe I expected fort knox lock down? The directions that come with are hard to read. Best if you print them yourself from the link provided above by tjd24. Or call them if you have problems. Brian and Tim are very cool and want to help. Black or chrome one thing, they look good!

I like the looks of mine, but it would be very easy to break into it. The locking mechanism is pretty weak.
