Did you put a lower octane in? I thought the V6 could use 87 without issue?

I would check the code, make sure its just a knocking code due to low octane, then perhaps consider picking up an octane booster to raise the octane level?

The only fuel that would trigger the light is E85 or maybe E15. It won't run on that well at all. You're going to need to have that fuel removed from your tank, refill with correct fuel, then clear the codes.

I been running 87 for over 2 years. No issues here.

I am wonder what kind of gas the OP put in the tank to cause issues.

The only "wrong" fuel for an LT is E85 or diesel......

The smell and the foaming should have given that one away.

Maybe OP just didn't get the gas cap tight. That can set off the check engine light.

Yeah, you cant actually fit a diesel nozzle in a gas receiver, it would spray everywhere. I'd say he accidentally put E85 or something in her. Been running 87 for 3 years.

Shouldn't be the 87 causing it.
