I'm reserving judgement. 2 cars with this problem is too small of a sample to be sure.

But we'll keep our eyes on it. Interesting to see what comes of it.
The dealer showed me a p.i. from GM that adviced them of the problem that may accure. and how diagnose it. So that tells me thay know about it.

[QUOTE=69 Hugger;631998]I think vash was asking did you break the shaft/bar on the IRS that goes to the wheel, you can see the bar/shaft in this pic. Sorry to see this happen to your car,sucks[/QUOTTE]

The output shaft in the trans between driveshaft and the end of the trans.

This steel not harding properly happened to me with my 04 GTO 2 days after I bought it. A fork on the pressure plate bent and that was the excuse for it also.

That sucks dude, I hope they get your car fixed soon.

If it's the 31-spline output shaft in the trans then it's not really the fault of GM but rather of Tremec (who makes the TR-6060)

I have the same trans in my '68 Camaro and the shaft has held up fine.. although it's the aftermerket (T56 Magnum) version.

Hope we don't snap the one on our new 2010 SS..

I know where the output shaft is, The OP was asking Vash in post #3 what He ment by "ujoint or bar", I was showing OP the bar and ujoint on the IRS picture.
