Quickest delivery from Classic in Grapevine?

I just ordered 1LT RS w/ MS Rims Black w/ black stripes and ordered on 6/26.

What's the quickest anyone has gotten theirs from Classic in Grapevine.
Who else has ordered right around the time I did?
Do y'all think V6 or V8 will get delivered first?

Any other opinions/observations?

Classic doesn't have any allocations right now. Hope you get your car before 2010. I had to cancel mine. It was going to take to long. Good Luck.

When did you order?
Who was your salesperson?
How long did they say it would take?

Call Joe M at Classic in Sugarland. He has some on the way, and he is awesome to deal with. I will be picking up my SIM 2LT/RS from him in the next few days.

Eric at Classic in Grapevine was also great to deal with, but he told me if I ordered today I would likely get my car in December; Joe happened to have one on the ground, so I snatched it up.

This was me when he told me he had one today --->

Classic Grapevine or Sugarland, and who is this Thompson Group you speak of that conjures Camaros up so quickly?

I ordered mine in March, and it's still not off of 1100. I am still perplexed at how this whole thing works. I understand the concept of allocations, but now I'm seeing people who ordered a month after I did, and their car has already come in.

+1

I have bought 3 cars from Classic and have never had anyone that was rude or otherwise uncooperative. Everyone from sales, finance, and service always did everything they could and then some to earn and keep my business.

I have been frustrated with my latest buying experience at Grapevine, but I can say that never, ever, in all of my years of working with Classic, has anyone been rude to me.

I dealt with Eric at the Grapevine location and he was great. I do recommend Eric and staff. I am now dealing with Joe M. at the Sugarland location and nothing bad to say. I just hope I come off of 1100 soon!

I have one Allocation left with placement July 16th. We sell ordered units at MSRP. Expected delivery perhaps 8 weeks depending on the ramp up at the factory after closing. I expect a lot of orders will be placed and none were built so new orders may lag a little bit.

are you saying that back-out orders that end up on the lot are NOT sold at MSRP?

The problem is not when ordered. You could order last October and if your dealer can only place one car a month and has 9 orders, simple math says you have 9 months to wait, AFTER they started building them in March 2009. And once placed you still have a 2 month wait. So it is very possible for someone to walk into a dealership order this weekend and have it placed next Tuesday and have it arrive in 6 to 8 weeks, while someone who orders in October stays at 1100 until it gets placed. (after the other guy has been driving the rubber off their Camaro for a few months).

Thanks for addressing my concerns, dstairs, but I still don't get it. If I ordered in October, and was still waiting for an allocation, why would someone who walked in today get the allocation instead of me, at the same dealership?

I understand that if the dealership suddenly received a large number of allocations, then someone who just walked in would get their order placed at perhaps the same time as someone who had been waiting for months, but how could they get it before the person who placed it months ago?

Cars that are not pre-sold are at MSRP or slightly over depending on stripe kits and window tints, however, not at crazy pricing like 5 k over, more like 500 bucks of additional profit. But again, I stress to my customers to order at MSRP, if they want to jump the cue to the front of the line and purchase today, either from me or a salesperson they may indeed be slightly over MSRP. (at least this week, next week or so who knows ,it will change as inventory increases)
