Tune after minor exhaust work + CAI?

Last weekend I deleted the resonator, replaced with an x pipe, and replaced the stock mufflers with some 3" Borla XR-1's I had in the closet. The volume level is pretty minor in difference, but the sound is quite a bit better, IMO. Anyway, CAI is going on soon as long as I won't possibly run lean on the stock tune. Tuning won't happen for another few weeks and I want to be sure that I most likely won't do any damage if I wanted to romp on it a bit.

You don't even need a tune for that setup...

It is not necessary at this point. Some cars need a tune any time you open the hood but these cars can adjust on their own to a certain extent.

I know. My tuner has had no problem squeezing out 30-40 hp on a conservative tune with intake and exhaust only cars. He's also seen ~10 hp gains overt the stock tune alone. Either way, he'stuning my SS and deleting AFM for an extremely reasonable price. Only charges $100 for major retunes (SC/turbo/stroker) and free tunes for headers, TB etc.

So, you're saying there's zero chance of running lean after CAI and no tune? I assumed as much, but I'm only really familiar with the LS1 and LS6.

I'd save for a good set of LTs and then get the tune.
