I got mine from Powers Swain Chevy back on June 12th. I know of 3 others on here that have their orders on the way or that have picked them up. There is a Black SS on the way that will be here by October that a guy backed out on and just last week I saw a V6 Red with white stripes. What did you order? I know they only had 8 allocations so Im guessing if you ordered in May that you were somewhere in the late 20s or 30s. They said they had like 35 or 40 orders right now and GM made them stop taking them. Ours was the first one they got in. A 2SS Rally Yellow with Black Rally Stripes and painted engine cover. You may be waiting for until at least November or something like that unless they get additional allocations. I would call your salesman to see if you could take over the order for the black SS. We had an order in and a guy backed out on the Yellow one so we took it. I know for a fact they are getting the black one in soon. They let us transfer all our paperwork to the Yellow one and didn't charge anything over MSRP.

Especially if they only had 8 allocations. At the time I didn't know this and they sure didn't give that information.

Brian might I suggest cars.com or autotrader. I was getting tired of waiting on my order since februayr and I emailed several possibilities i found and while alot of them were idiots or BS I did get two msrp offers of existing cars thats closely matched what i was looking for. As of right now they had everything I wanted except sunroof and i am still waiting on my order or to find one with sunroof. I would suggest you might try doing the same.

Edit I should mention I search entire US not just locally, as i would be willing to fly out for my perfect car if its found, you might not be wanting to deal with all that.

Ordered May 18th from Joe Alcoke in New Bern @ MSRP. Still no movement. I have been assured that they have proper allocations. Who knows. All the guys I've spoken with have been very nice. Sat there on Saturday for an hour BS'ing with them. Talk with a salesman at Kurtis here in Morehead and he could offer no more promise than Alcoke.

I ordered at msrp also, but was just thinking my salesman told me august and if it's going to be august I thought that my status should be moving by now.

I feel your pain. I was told basically the same thing. However I had been lurking on this site since March and knew better.

Someone once said "Knowledge is power". Well I have just enough to be dangerous!
Side note. Saw a car in Swansboro at Stephenson's (2ss/rs, no other options) priced at $44,900. When I told the guy it was worth at most $38,000, he got up and walk out. He also said that they wouldn't sell any Camaro at MSRP. Keep the faith!

Hey Brian2SS/RS, Things may be moving faster for them now or they may have gotten more allocations by now. Im not sure since I stopped keeping track of all that stuff once I got mine. I can tell you that most orders within allocation move to 3000 status within 3 to 4 weeks so there is nothing to worry about so far. After that about 2 to 4 more weeks for 3800 and typically 2 to 4 more for shipping unless something freakish happens and it gets there sooner. I would call Gary Brown, he is the manager there and is very upfront and nice, and ask him how many they are allocated and what number you are on the list. Who is your salesman? Powers Swain is a great dealership but unfortunately the salesman aren't well informed for the most part. All the other local dealers are jacking the price up at least 5k over sticker around Fayetteville and Raleigh. I can tell you that my old order was placed around March 16th and was still at 1100 when we cancelled and bought the Yellow one off the lot on June 12th. We were number 18 then, but I know they had 8 original spots not counting any additional allocations granted. Hope I am helping a little.

Oh yeah, if you see Sandi2010 or stikSS, they too also ordered from Powers Swain and might be able to help you out better than me. I know Sandi2010 is waiting for her car right now. We are trying to have a little get together for the area Camaros so if we do you should come on out.

I sent you a PM, but just to put the info out there .. I was told 8 original allocations but they have gotten more since then as far as I know. I pre-ordered in October and am looking to take delivery very soon. They seem to be rolling in pretty consistent at Powers Swain and I have not heard anybody complaining about dealer mark ups, etc. I already have the pre-delivery invoice and it is exactly what I expected .. no games. They do have a lot of orders though and are doing what they can to help the customers. As Lee said, they are just not as informed as some of the dealers that are on here, but they are trying and I give them kudos for that! My advice, just talk to your dealer up there and tell him what you have seen on here - that helped with mine and he was able to get me the printout of all the event codes. Never hurts to ask!! Good luck!!

Went by the dealership this morning and they had 2 V6's parked by the body shop. One was Victory Red with white rally stripes and the RS package and the other was just a SIM with no stripes yet and no RS package. I think someone backed out of the red one because I have seen it there before and this time it had no tags. Things are moving very quickly for them now. It just seems like alot of people around here ordered the V6 for some reason. To each his or her own I guess but I could not dream of having a V6 in my Camaro after driving my 2SS for 1000 miles. And yes all the power is there. When I drove past 900 miles it was like a switch turned on. I even peeled in 1st gear.....lol.

Good Morning, To all who ordered from Power Swain, they are an awesome dealership, however i do know what everybody means about the "lack of knowledge" from them, but i have been there, showed several of the guys this site and where to locate valuable info about our cars. Their original allocation was 9, my car came in on 6/25 and it was the 7th one to be delivered to them, and i know the victory red v6, and the silver have arrived since, so that is 9, and they have another 1 or 2 that have been built since as well. I'm sure their allocation has been moved up, so i would just wait and get what you ordered, you will appreciate it a whole lot more!!!!.

Lee, when are you planning on a meet? It would be awesome to arrange it with the other folks that have purchased from PS and make it where we could come show at their dealership (front row by Bragg Blvd), help draw business to them, hopefully work something out with them getting us free hat, shirt etc. Just an idea!.

Sounds good to me! My wife left today on her deployment and won't be home until April 2010. So.....I need as much to do as possible to keep me busy. Im taking my Yellow 2SS to get the windows tinted in the morning. We should try for like a Saturday morning or Friday evening thing. Wonder if that would fly? I'll be up there on Monday the 13th so I'll mention it to Gary and see what they say about it.

That"ll be cool, i would like to call the other buyers from them or have them call and arrange it where we could all do it together, i know Bobby Kinlaw bought an IOM from them, not sure about the rest of the folks besides you and Sandi. I have a friend thats going to Michigan to get one today, but he wont be back until Sunday. Did you get your stripes put on yet?

Yeah, they put my stripes on about a week or 2 ago. They look great, but I'm always scared when I am washing it that I will accidentally scratch them or something. Thinking about getting these taken off and painted back on later or something. I love them anyways so I'll probably just wait until it messes up or something. I like how the flat black contrasts with the glossy paint on the car. Makes it stand out. I was also looking at the ground effects, maybe adding them on later and instead of painting them yellow like the car, paint them black to match the stripes and the tint. I'll see later on. The wife gave me the greenlight to get a supercharger put in when she gets back from deployment next April so I'm pretty excited about that.

Talked to Gary and he was helpful. Probably expect to see my car as a Christmas present to myself it looks like though. They just don't have the allocation right now.
