Whoa whoa whoa so we can talk about fake tv street racing now? LOL.

I demand this thread be closed ASAP!!!!! As ithis dissucssion kinda sorta maybe might fall into very light grey area of the forum rulez that vaguly address this particular form of street racing!(JOKE)

I have been wondering when this would come up though. I saw the first episode and though it was slightly entertaining but had to be fake as hell. There used to be another show like this but it seemed more realistic i think it was a discovery documentery/miniseries. Ive always wondered whether any vendor's on here cars have engaged in any "fake tv street racing"

I like the show, it's obvious they race at an airport, or some closed course..but the cars are legit!

When I was in the street racing seen ( not my car but friends with bad ass cars ) they didn't have slicks, cages , headers out the fender, etc... They tried to look as stock as possible. One dude had a notch back that ran low 10's on the sauce ( verified once before getting thrown out of the track). Mild cam, pony rims, no monster tach, stock auto shifter. Or there was a guy who was raping people in Chicago with his 1200 hp supra that looked bone stock. All for money, friends setting up friends for a payday,no lists etc...

What do you mean it is not real? I bet you don't believe that Pro Wrestling is real either. Don't you know that it is against the Law to put anything on the internet or TV that is not real?

Garbage show. 45 mins of redneck trash talking and 3 minutes of staged watch my flame exhaust racing. You could take all the "racing" from every episode and make it a 12 minute youtube vid. They aren't street cars, they aren't illegally racing under giant light towers with hoardes of trailers and people and camera men with cop lights at the end of the roads.

Hell, i know plenty of actual street cars right here locally that would walk most of those cars and actually do what this show claims. Anybody who believes a 2 1/2 ton loaded down shitty Farmtruck with his HP is one of the fastest street cars in the nation is retarded.

The best part is all the top ranked vehicles are GM. Then at the back is the farm truck bonus vehicle.

It's entertaining. I like when they roll up to a new "undiscovered" road and while they're taking measurements all you see are 100 strips of rubber on the road. Those cars/trucks are insane.

A bunch of douchebags with big egos. There are plenty of real street racing DVDs out there. Why anyone would watch this obviously fake show is beyond me. It is trashy

I'm waiting until they head to Cali. I have a feeling a couple of the cars from Oakland Speedway are going to take them down a peg or two.

Although the show is fake, the cars on the show are real. They have been street racing for years before the show. I wouldn't consider the cars "streetable" but they really do street race and they really are good at it.

You have to look at it differently. Sure, Murder Nova only runs a 7 at the track. Farm Truck ran 10.3 when I saw him race. Not the fastest cars out there.
BUT to beat them, they run 1/8 mile on the street. You have to hook from a dig on the street, and you'll need 1000+whp to keep up. Not as easy as some of you seem to think...

Look up 1320 Cash Days if you want to see the cars race outside of the show

Also don't think they really care what the ET's are, its who crosses the finish line first. That's how me and my wife race, just a lot slower.

1/8 mile and 1/4 mile are lame. Lets see them compete in the standing mile.

I have to admit, I like the show. Yes, I know the races are setup for TV and they are not true street races, but I do believe that they do street race these cars. I also know that these cars are fast and badass!

i love the show. can care less whats real and whats fake. It's entertainment. cool car shit thats hard to find on TV. Everyone has to ride this whole "it's fake" wave on everything they see. who cares ! Those cars launching with the front wheels in the air on a street is pretty badass. The power these things make is incredible and fun to watch. Doc, murder nova and Monza have some killer machines. I respect what these guys have. Good show !

Standing mile is irrelevant. The cars are built for 1/4, they would run out of gearing long before a mile.
Besides, it's a lot harder getting traction at full speed for 1/8 mile than just rolling into a 1 mile run
