Sucks. I had the rear main seal leak when it was brand new. I guess this is a common issue. The dealer didn't have to tear into it that bad, though. I think they had it fixed in half a day or something. I don't think they even had to drop the tranny.

There's a transmission for your Camaro on the stand below and left of your Camaro... But the good news is all new Gaskets!

Yea, thankfully it was covered. I cant imagine what all that labor would cost!
You made me panic and go back in and look at the pic. I think it is the angle of the pic though...I hope! |

I took my 2010 SS in to have ceramic brakes put on and the mechanic noticed oil had blown back and coated the under side of the car. His first thought was the oil seal or the oil pan gasket. He used a couple of cans of degreaser and cleaned up the oil and said to bring it back in about a week. I took it back and sure enough the oil was all over the underside of the car, the mechanic checked the oil filter and sure enough it was very loose and that's where the oil was coming from. Thank GOD he didn't tear it all apart to find out it was just the oil filter being loose!

Probably because it was evenly distributed when they put it up, then took out ALL the weight of the front, literally, the engine, trans, cradle, wheels, brakes, etc.
