Question Too much mileage for 2012?

I found a 2012 LT for about $25,850. It has
29,438 miles on it. Thinking about talking to
the dealer about getting it reduced to $24,000
or $23,500. What do u think?

I would pass on that. Even at $23,500. This is a bad time of year to buy but still. With those miles, no way...

Too many miles, there's a better deal with low mileage out there, it'll find you or you'll find it

yeah bud, I would definitely search some more . . . I just bought a 2012 LT M6 with 4000miles , perfect condition and victory red for 20,200$ out the door . . it was a great deal, but just an example if you really search, you'll find what you're looking for.

Trust me a car like that with that many miles has seen a ton of highway miles...doubt it's as bad as people are saying.

HOWEVER, I am buying another SS today, 2010 33k miles for 23.5...so look into finding an SS.

I agree. My 1LE is less than two months old and has 5100 miles. I can easily say it's probably one of the best cared for cars on this forum. I clean the bottom of the damn car every other week. Wheels-off cleaning every weekend. It's insane. Not all cars get this kind of care but you never can know for sure. After all, the chances of a sports car being driven slow and gentle are zero. The only way to know a car hasn't been bashed is to buy a new one.

Granted my 2012 now has 40000 miles on it and it still runs like the day I bought it, but I too would pass on that car unless you can get the price knocked down to around $22000 or less, just remember this- it is THEM that need to sell the car.......and they will, but they wont get that price they are asking for, you just gotta do some negotiating

Pssssh.....I've had my car six months and am over 14,000. I suspect with summer driving coming up I will exceed 30,000 in one year of driving. Thank heaven for extended warrenties.

I bought my 2012 on November 30th 2011 and I'm just shy of 25,000 miles already -- almost all highway.

Wow, lots of miles on some of these Camaros. Mine's a 2012 and I've only put 8,000 miles on it so far. I only live a few miles away from my full-time job, and we take my wife's truck to my part-time job (she works there, too). Everything else like grocery stores and gas stations are just a block or two away from the house. So I guess I'm lucky in that aspect.

Depends. My 2012 has 22000 and at first thought you'd think it was high, but I bought one of the first 12s in August 2011. So that's almost a half yer more of driving.

Also, high mileage often means lots of highway miles, which are less harsh than a city driven car.

you can get a new LT for under $25k, an LS for $23, why buy a used one with the warranty almost gone? plus it's much easier to get a loan on a new one.

you stole that 1, $20k out the door, even after tax & dealer fees? hard to believe.

Depends.. Can always get a carfax report and get it checked out, look into how many owners and what type of people owned the car..

If that's too much work just keep looking

I don't know why all these people are saying too many miles. It's not even near too many miles its just high miles for the year. Cars these days are lasting an easy 150k miles so that car still has a long way to go if maintained well. If you keep an eye out in the autos for sale section on this site you will see a lot of good deals on very well maintained and modded Camaros. LT's in the low 20's a lot and that's with nice modds and less miles than that car.

I'll say my Camaro at 33,300 miles feels tighter and newer than some of my previous vehicles did with only 15,000 miles... I think the new Camaro handles miles and stays feeling fresh and tight very well.

it's not so much the miles to me. it could be close to two years old and that's 12k miles a year, not that bad.
but that price is like it was new.
