Question: Regarding MRT V2

Has anyone after installing their MRT V2, decided to remove the resonators, and if you did, how much did the sound change and did you like it.

I didn't. I thought about it but have read a few posts in other threads on this and I read that some that have done it the drone got worse. I don't notice the drone myself but definitely didn't want it any louder in the car. I personally liked it the way it was, but now I have since added the Solo HFC's and it made it sound a little deeper and more aggressive sounding when hard on the throttle.

Also did you keep the original resonators on when you added the HFC since they come with resonators.

Only problem I had was a fitment issue. I have an automatic trans and the cross member is closer to the engine. The HFC's were slightly out of align and the resonator that is on the HFC's were touching the cross member on the drivers side. This alignment issue has been fixed by Solo. No cel's since installation.

.

I did not touch the resonators in the mid section, between the HFC's and the axle, since I didn't want the issue of the drone that some people are getting. I also didn't mess with the H-pipe behind these resonators(or in front of, can't remember location now been awhile since I was under the car) but some have put on the Magnaflow X-pipe to make it a little more mellow and to tame the drone. I don't notice the drone.

There is a sound clip on my build thread feel free to check it out. It is kind of a crappy clip but you get the idea.

I had the mrt v2 with solo hfc when I had my ls. The sound was great ,a little drone but not bad, just buy some fat mat or something similar and line the trunk and around the speakers and it will kill most of any sounds
