I know this probably has been discussed but need help? I have an appointment to have a 3m bear bra this week on the front clip and 14" up the hood and front fenders as well as the twoback of the side mirrors. Does anyone know what this should be costing price range before I go and find its to high and could have found a better package.

They quoted 450 but dont know what should be the price range

totally depends on the installer. I've seen $250 for minor stuff, or as low as $700 for the full car

thanks I was thinking front clip 14" up the hood and rear of mirrors. they offer to do all the hood but don't know if thats necesary.

Yea the 3M films are the best. All cars in the future will just be wrapped in it in a printed form (skin wrap). I predict... less than 10 years. With the car just painted mostly black or white as a base and 3m film on top. Printed.

Yeah, the 3rd gen 3M skin is the best right now. No more orange peel, and its nice and glossy. With a good installer, you'll never know you have it on.

FAF, that coverage sounds great as a min. Remember though, with 14" up the hood, you will notice a line in the sun. Its not that bad, but if you're a perfectionist, it'll piss you off. It would me... Either get the whole hood done seemless, or get the full car done. You'll never regret getting the full car done. I've seen pics of people backing up into telephone poles with the 3M stuff on it, and coming out with just a minor dent and 'perfect' paint still. Dents are easy to manipulate, color matching scratches... Not so much.

God I really hope not. There is no finish on that stuff compared to a nice paint and clear coat.

what is the part number for the 3rd gen 3m skin so I can be sure thts what the installer shop is using. you are probabbly correct I'm a perfectionist and think the hole hood would be better. if you get a parking lot ding would it hold?

It's already being done....sorta. See these buses in China. It's not shrink wrap, but like a big decal. My cowrker watched them install one in a parking lot one day. Unfortunately I missed it. The decal wrapped around the bus, and they used a box cutter to open up the wheel wells, radiator, lights etc. he said it took them about 20 minutes. Of course they look like crap when you get close up....

Looks like 850 for full front end.

Full bumper, 12" on hood, pillars, 6" on roof, mirrors, door handles, rear fenders - $680 and prices are high in my state so I would shop around if I were you. $850 seems high to me.

A couple quotes I got:

The cost for the 2010 Camaro is $600.00 for labor and material, which include the full bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors

bumper only , and the mirrors. The cost is $425.00 for labor and material
