At Heritage Chevrolet, my dealer, they do the first one for free (I did mine at 500 miles). Im not sure how much they charge for just oil change, but for typical service (oil, lube, rotated tires, etc.) they run $39.99

EDIT: I wonder if they used Mobil 1... I hope so but doubt it after seeing that estimate^

Free for life

I have free oil changes for life from my dealer, even with the synthetic oil. That will add up over time.

Hmmmm. I just paid $135 for my oil change at 1500 miles. That is for 9 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic oil. That $39.99 is not going to happen.

I was quoted $120 for 9 quarts of Mobil 1, filter, and labor. I bought 10 quarts and 2 filters for $60 and did it myself.

You sure you bought all 10 quarts? M1 switched their jugs to 4 quarts a couple of months ago. A few people on LS1tech ran low from not paying attention to what they were buying.

...not that anyone HERE would do that

I got ten 1 quart bottles. Autozone ran a special for 5 quarts and filter for $30. Needed 9 quarts, so I basically bought the special twice.

Cost of oil, filter and some of my time, with any vehicle I own. No "oil change expert" is touching one of my vehicles!

Changing your own oil couldn't be easier... Especially with the catridge filter in the V6. Is this the same style the LS3 uses, os is it a screw-on?
