Terrible radio reception.

So lately I've noticed I get horrible radio reception. Stations that's should be coming in loud and clear are nothing but static. Also, once I do manage to get a station it's never that clear....until I turn he car off. Then it comes great. Any ideas??

Rear window tinted? If so, what type of tint? There is a metallic type that is known to cause reception issues as the antenna is in the rear window.

Yea the rear is tinted. I was tinted when I purchased it. And the radio reception was fine when I purchased the car. Only within the last few months has it really been an issue. I mean I can sometimes hit the seek button and it will go all the way around without picking up a station.

Denis,

Sincere apologies to hear of the radio reception concern. I know that is displeasing for you. If you experience anything that might be tied to a vehicle issue, please let me know and I can help facilitate a dealer visit.

Have you added a stereo amplifier into the trunk, or under the rear speakers?

Well like I said, it's all fuzzy when the car is running. As soon as I shut the far off it's clear.

Hahaha oh it's the car. Here's a clip of what I'm talking about. You can clearly hear the difference when I turn the car off.

Mine does the same thing. It started after I added the MSD BAP.

Just saw the video that would drive me crazy. Is there anything else not working right ? For S&G if you have a Multimedia ck batter make sure batter leads are tight and has a good ground. Batter should read around 14.4 when the car is on if some thing else might be an underline problem some where else.

On my 2010 Camaro there was a TSB to install a "noise suppression filter." I had this done. Here are a few existing TSB's for you to consider...

#07-08-46-002D: Audio Whine Noise from Radio Speakers When using OnStar (Install Noise Suppression Filter) - (Jul 29, 2009)

#03-08-44-005I: Poor Radio Reception or Radio Static/Increased Interference with Rear Window Defogger On or Some Rear Window Defogger Grids May Be Inoperative (Diagnose and Repair Rear Window Defogger Heating Grid) - (Jun 18, 2009)

The second one has me curious. The first one not so much due to the fact that I don't use onstar. Hmmmm. Thanks for the info!!

Well I narrowed it down to the DRL's. as soon as I turn the lights off the static goes away and it's clear as a bell. Now the only Thing I've done is the harness from JDP to keep them on all the time and LED bulbs...soooo I guess ill start with the harness and then the bulbs (although I'm not really sure how either would affect radio reception).
