About to plastidip rims.. need advice.
Hey all, I know that there are hundreds of plastidip threads on this forum but I just need some quick advice from someone who has used plastidip for their rims.
I have used plastidip plenty, used it to blackout a full chrome grille on my old yukon and loved how it looked and held up. I just want to know, how many cans do you think it will take and how exactly do I go about not getting it the inside of my wheel-well and brakes? I tried the plastic bag method for a quick test run on the yukon and it did not work. |

I used newspaper and just wrapped it around all the breaks and everything then took out when it was dried. I did it this past weekend but it was on my mini not the camaro.

The best way to is remove the wheels so you evenly coat the spray on the rims.

I basically used 1-1 1/4 cans per wheel, five in total. I took mine off the first time to cost the entire wheel. I have also done a bit of touch up as well, in the car. I used paper and plastic to cover brakes. Worked well for me.

I took mine off as well... Also, when removing the dip, I just found out the easiest way to take the dip that doesn't peel off is to use adhesive remover.
