Hey guys and gals. I ordered the 2SS/RS and cant wait to get it. I love this car how it looks and all that went into it. But i am getting a little tired of my friends that have mustangs trying to talk me out of it because they believe Mustangs are the way...DONT MAKE THIS A FLAME OTHER CARS THREAD....i want to know if any of you have had the same kind of run in's. I just told my buddy wait till i get the car and you'll see.....lol....i think i should show him the hunting for mustangs pic that someone made....lol

Yes. I am not even getting one anytime soon...but everytime I talk about Camaro's he's like well i saw this video of X car betting the Camaro and blah blah. My friend has a 2007 Mustang GT California Special and he thinks his car is so much better than mine. And everytime I talk to my friends about it they say i'm obsessed. It is so annoying.

I parked the Camaro in front of a restaurant I was eating at so I could see peoples reactions as they walked by. There was a black Lamborghini Murcielago parked two cars down and a red ROUSH Mustang parked next to the Lambo. There is a fitness club that has a lot of high roller clients with nice cars.. Needless to say, in the hour I was there watching my car, everybody that walked by stopped and took a look at the Camaro. Some pulling out there cell phones and took some pictures. I didn't see anybody stop to look at the Murcielago or GT500.. I had the clicker just in case somebody laid a hand on the car but I never had to use it. This was the first time I had done this and I have to say it probably will not last once we start seeing many more on the road, but it is fun in the meantime to have the most wanted car in America.

The Camaro has the WOW factor in a class all it's own. A mustang is just another dang mustang....they are everywhere. Even the blue hairs are driving them b/c they are an everyday staple. Hands down in the looks depts.....Camaro all the way. Just take notes from all the folks on here about how people have reacted upon seeing one....any one.

Oh, BTW, this Camaro will have your stang gang friends licking their lips. Go out with all of them one night after you get your car, and just see who gets the most attention.!

My work buddies give me flak, but that's because 90% of them drive trucks and always have. The older ones love it, they think it's cool, but the younger ones get moody and it's because we're the same age and they're married with kids, and I'm not, and buying cool cars.

well it comes down to personal preference on the looks. I think the camaro kills the mustang in looks but some may prefer the looks of the mustang. The camaro certainly has the wow factor right now, maybe in a few years that will be gone. But right now everybody has a mustang, can't drive 1 block without seeing 2 or 3 mustangs. I have only seen 1 camaro on the road and I live in southern california. I rented a IOM SS recently and got tons of looks, questions, stares, etc. Does anybody do that for a mustang ? No, everybody including grandmas drive mustangs. I have nothing against mustangs, used to own a GT 5.0 and back in the day those were cool, still can be.

Cars are personal preference. Get what you like, you are the one paying for it and driving it.

No grief, just jealousy

My partner tells me I have a 16 year olds car. I grin and bare it. She drives a Lexus.

The first question I get asked is.."Is it an SS?".. Most of the time they are standing in front of the SS symbol.. Then I get asked "Is it a stick?" I say yes.. THen they begin to ask me how much horsepower, etc.. How much did it cost..When I tell them I got it for $32,000, they are like "No kidding?" in disbelief. Most think its a $40,000 plus car.. I know that if I got a V6 or worse, an automatic, then people wouldn't be so awed by the car as they are when they see its an SS and stick.. I know though I would be happy with an automatic V6 as that is what I drove for over 14 years before.. I did get a lot of crap for doing that back in high school.. But I didn't care back then and I still wouldn't today..

From a mustang guy....BE HAPPY. lol. Your going to have one amazing ride. And like they said its a personal choice for sure! i'd take a 2010 camaro over a 2010 mustang. But i'd take my 05 mustang over both, the reasons vary but it all boils down to prefernece. This world would STINK if we all drove the exact same thing. I'm all for it and thrilled in general about all the american muscle out there now!

I had a kid in a pretty nice Mustang pull up next to me at a stoplight a week or so ago, motion for me to roll the window down, and then tell me he loved my car. Personally, I wouldn't trade my Camaro for a new Mustang, but it is just a preference thing.

I think all the American muscle is cool, and I always give a wave, nod, thumbs up, etc to nice Mustangs, Challengers, and of course other Camaros.

My neighbor across the street is a die hard Mustang fan and has one in his garage - a definite Ford enthusiast. He walked over last night with a buddy and had nothing but awesome comments about my car. He actually said he thought it might be the best looking car on the road right now. I almost fell over.

I think real car "lovers" regardless of brand preference really see the awesomness of this car. It is undeniable GM hit this one clear out of the park and real car ppl know it.

Don't let the haters tear you down. They are NOT all like that.

i don't get that but everyone keeps saying "a camaro? why do you need a camaro?" i don't NEED one, i want one jack ass. yes i have a great car right now, but i'm single, no kids, and have the means to be able to afford the car i've wanted since i was 9 so why not get one? it's so annoying. are they just jealous that they can't get one too?

edit: this edit has nothing to do with my post, but my signature. i've never had one before so i don't know why that's there. that's my craigslist ad LOL!

i don't understand why the manual makes it cooler? i read this all the time and absolutely don't get it. 9 times out 10 i beat a stick shift vehicle, in my automatic.
