Cabin lights

I have a 2011 2SS and the cabin light don't always go on when the drivers door is opened. Anyone have this problem before? I have another question concerning the lights inside the car, both doors have the edge light up when dark, is the same border on the front of the dashboard supposed to light up just as the doors do?
