Best floor jack?

I went to install my apex race scoop and washer relocation kit today, only to figure out that my floor jack no longer fits underneath my Camaro since I lowered it back in march So it is time to get a new one. What type of floor jack do you guys recommend? Also, I know that this may be a stupid question, but are jack stands really that necessary? I know that it is important to have them when you actually go underneath the car, but what about if you are just taking off the tire, or using it to take off the front fascia, small jobs likes that? Thanks guys for the help!

Just drive up on one or two blocks of 2x6, that should give you the clearance to slide the jack under the front end.

As far as the jackstands go, if you use them to protect your head in case the jack fails, wouldn't you want to take the 2 min and put them there to protect your car.

I know it's probably not "the best" quality, but I just bought this jack from Harbor Freight. It's extremely low profile, and long to reach way up under the car. I think it's great!!!

Blazzin1 used this when we did the coilovers on mine . My car had the Pfadt springs and the SLP lip on and it worked just great .

I have the same one as well. I agree, it's very low profile and has about 3-4 inch deeper reach than many others.

Same jack I have. Works great! Yes, get jack stands. Never rely on a jack only if you are under a car.

This is the one I have and I love it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...1&s=automotive

It is the only jack I've found that has a 100% lifetime warranty. If 15-20 years down the road and the seals go bad or something breaks, they will fix it. Every other big name company I've found only offers 5 years or less. The one from Harbor Freight everyone else is talking about only has a 90 day warranty.

If you have a northern tool close I got this for cheap and its a high lift, low profile. Very impressed with it for the money.

That's the one I use and it works perfect for lowered vehicles and has a long reach. Very heavy; but great quality.
