2nd gear not spinning enough!

So I just recently bought a 2010 camaro 2ss m6 ls3 and already have some questions.

For some reason when I'm getting on it and throwing it from first to second i'm just getting a little scratch and thats it, where my friends camaro would spin like freakin crazy.

Before anyone ask's... I hold the traction control down for about 7 seconds to make sure I have trac off and stab off.

My friend that had a camaro just like mine told me to pull the #5 Fuse and #20 fuse and let it sit over night and maybe that might help since the previous owner might have been using regular unleaded where I have ran that completely out and now using premium and maybe needed to be re-mapped and that didn't help!

I am also shifting between 6-7,000 rpm when going into second.

p.s. I thought... Since I bought the yellow with black stripes, the black stripes would make it faster!!! LMAO

Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I want more spinning lol!

He shifts faster then you! My car breaks loose pretty hard in second on a great shift, on a lazy shift it will hit pretty soft. That's kind of a stupid way of measuring the performance of your car though.

Depends on tire wear, tire type, pavement type, air pressure, how much fuel is in the car, ambient temp, pavement temp....lol. Lots of variables. Want more spin? Need more POWA

i agree with rhino , my car with 460 rwhp maybe more now. when i hit 2nd with factory tires it dont just spin it will do like a lil chirp. but now if im wanting to spin when i hit 2nd i clutch drop it a lil and it will do it. like the other day i took a friend out for a ride and it was hooking really good. then yesterday it was spinning all over the place. diff roads , temps all that plays in. all it takes its just a lil bit of will spin at the right rpms and it will eat the tires up.

Agreed, so many variables in play here.

I will say that the Stock pirellis actually are decent tires for stock power. I was surprised too at first how much effort it took to get them to spin vs my 05 gto which would break them loose easily.

Once the tires got worn down though, totally different story. As cool as it might be to spin them, traction is not a bad thing as that means you are moving forward.

Just turbo it and you can spin em in 3rd and 4th gear then ;-)

If you want to 1 up your friend, challenge him to a grudge race. While he's spinning like "crazy" as you put it, you can hook and beat him. Then you can respond with, "your car may spin better, but mine is FASTER!"

Your problem is that you need to shift closer to 7500 to really get the tires spinning....
