So I finally picked my Camaro up and now damage

Out of the past 3 months I've had my car for 2 weeks :(

I just picked her up at Henna Chevrolet and a ****ing metal trash can lid came flying at my car and hit the drivers side quarter panel.

I'm so sick of this.

You have some bad luck, I am so glad I don't live within 1K miles of you.

Well, if you get all of the bad luck out of the way all at once, maybe it will be smooth sailing for you for awhile.

At least you now know that Henna Chevrolet is a good dealership. Soooooo..... does insurance cover this incident? You have ben having bad luck lately, but at least it is something that can be fixed easily, I hope. Pictures?

Just went to the body shop that I always use and it's $1300 to repair it. On the phone with Allstate now. Comprehensive is covering it with a $250 deductible thank goodness.

That's good! That is a relief on your part. Do they have to replace the whole quarter panel?

Damn...that sucks!

Nice that you have a $250 deductible. Just be extra, extra careful (not that you wouldn't be) because if you get in another accident that's your fault and have to file a claim your rates will definitely be going up.

I've had 2 hiccups with my rear quarter, one not my fault and one was my fault. I ended up paying out of pocket to keep my insurance down (I only pay $1k a year for full coverage on two cars). Even then I only paid around $900 to have the whole quarter re-sprayed and some bumper damage fixed....and this is by a top painter. I don't let just anyone touch either one of my Camaros.

Oh nah, it's not that bad. Very light indentation but mostly just a long scrape and it got my new Forgestar wheel a little

Mine was not pretty and this one was my fault. Just my luck that it caught just a little bit of the quarter. Still, it got the quarter and the whole thing had to be re-sprayed. Good as new now.

Some years back I was driving on the FDR Drive in NYC. The car in front of me must have hit a wheel cover and popped it up and onto my hood and windshield. Amazingly it seemed to have done no damage so I just shrugged it off. A few days later I was driving to NYC and it started to snow. I turned on the wipers and the drivers side blade just pops off and sits there. So there I am in the snow with no wipers! I turned the defroster up to max and sometimes put my head out the window to see when the snow was falling hard.

That is my biggest fear when I get my camaro. Hopefully the first little imperfection DOESN'T HAPPEN, but I know that if/when it does, I will freak out and go into a depression. I will definitely be trying my best to keep things from happening. I tell myself I will park in an empty part of the lots, but then i feel that draws too much attention to the car and its more likely to get keyed or something. and I tell myself I am going to detail it weekly, and clean the inside bi weekly. And if anything happens ever, I tell myself I am going to get it fixes ASAP, because i wouldn't be able to stand the sight of it, or other people knowing that it is there... Any suggestions? :P
