Bird s**t on the hood

So a few months ago I had a spot on my hood wrap that I could not figure out where it came from. After some time for my dealership to work with 3M, my wrap was replaced free of charge to my about 3 weeks ago.

Now a few days ago I came out of work and had bird s**t on the wrap, I immediately cleaned it off, but it left the same stain as before.

3M suggested using vinegar to try and clean it, said they would send me another wrap if that didn't work. Ultimately though, they realize that bird s**t causes staining to the product, but state they can't fix/prevent it. I think this is stupid for a product marketed as a vehicle wrap, when this is what happens to cars. (birds s**tting on them)

Anyone with the same problem? Anyone have any luck getting the stain to lift? 3M also recommended using Swissvax opaque wax on the wrap, but it is $75 for a 50ml jar.

I've had my car as a DD for 11 months and a little over 10K miles. I always washed with just car wash soap and water, no issues with the wrap at all.

Apparently Xilon will protect from that.. I'll let you know, mine gets applied in 3 weeks. I have read good and bad things about it but thought it was worth a try.

Is the wrap covered under warranty? What's the process? Go through Chevy dealer or 3m directly? I read this post yesterday, went to wash car today, and few spots from the bird missiles as well.

I daily drive mine, it has 16k miles on it and I've been bombed several times, simple car wash soap and water removes it every time without staining.

Luckly I met Steve of Furious Shine the seconded week of owning my car. He sells Adam's wax line. He taught me, I even have a Iphone vid of how to apply Adam's VRT and Brilliant glaze with which applicators. It allows you to buff to the shine finish you want. You want a bit more deep black with a little shine buff lightly. You want deep matte black, buff a little more. The VRT keeps the vinyl from drying out and the Brilliant glaze allows protectant against element issues like birds and dirt. I just wipe it down every once in awhile with a fleece towel and if it looks to dirty. I wipe it down with a little water spray bottle and fleece towel. Then Do the VRT and Glaze steps again.

3M has a two year warranty, been told by vinyl people if you don't take care of it and its on for more then 3 years it will take a orbital sander to remove it. I think in the future I will replace it with a carbon fiber black look to be a little more custom.
